It is well known that director Bala and actor Vikram share a good rapport.
It may be noted that it was Bala who gave Vikram a new lease of life in Kollywood with Sethu in the late 90s and he hasn’t looked back since.
Subsequently, he also worked in Pithamagan and earned a lot of praise and a national award for his role.
British actress Amy Jackson is attempting to make a space for herself in Kollywood by trying her hand at varied roles.
After having played a Tamil-speaking girl in her previous movies, she will be seen in a different avatar in Shankar's I.
Going by the latest working stills released by the director, Amy will be seen donning a half-sari in the movie.
Vikram is said to be betting big on director Shankar's big-ticket film, I, after a string of flop shows.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that over 50% of the film’s shooting has been completed. The director wrote on his blog about the progress made by I and said around two-thirds of the movie starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead had been finished.
Mercurial film-maker Shankar has his own ideas about film-making. The director, who has acquired a nation-wide reputation of thinking big and implementing even bigger films, is presently making the Tamil-Telugu bilingual I which has Vikram and Amy Jackson in lead roles. As always, Vikram is said to be undergoing a metamorphosis vis-à-vis his appearance in the film.
Vikram hasn't had it good in recent ventures. His latest release David, a bilingual, wasn't much of a success.
After super hit movies like Sethu, Dhool, Saamy and others, things haven't gone his way off late.
Anniyan star Vikram has toned his body to look the part for Shankar's I and the project is making good progress.
If one goes by the looks of the actor in posters, he looks fighting fit. It is being said that he has two looks and for one of them he needs to put on some weight and look chunky too.
The actor said that it had not happened overnight and that he had to put in a lot of hard work. He also fell ill during this time, making it all the more difficult.
