Birthday Babe: Namitha

Nayanthara denies rumors about her bikini act

There was talk that Nayanthara was set to do the bikini act in the ongoing film with Ajith being directed by Vishnuvardhan. Meanwhile, the actress, who did the same (bikini act) in Billa a few years ago, has denied it. Also, she has said she would never repeat it again in her films.

Nayanthara has a handful of projects in her kitty including Raja Rani with Arya, and one with Udhayanidhi Stalin directed by S R Prabhakaran.

Nayanthara dares to bare

Nayanthara is all set to make a strong comeback in Kollywood, so to speak.

It seems the actress, who is part of Ajith's as-yet-untitled project directed by Vishnuvardhan, is keen to ensure that her second innings in filmdom is a successful one.

And, she is not averse to the dare-bare act, apparently. Sources have it that after sizzling in a bikini in Billa, Nayanthara is reportedly ready to embrace glamour yet again in the Ajith film, which is in the making.

Birthday Special: Superstar Rajinikanth

First Look: Jai

Prakash Raj in Thillu Mullu

To remake popular and successful movies of Superstar Rajinikanth, has become more of a fashion these days. The list of movies that were remade is quite long and those that immediately spring to mind are Murattu Kaalai, Billa and Padikkathavan.

Now, the buzz is that Thillu Mullu is to be remade with Shiva of Chennai-28 fame reprising the Superstar's role. Meanwhile, rumours have it that two more popular actors have been zeroed in to join the cast.

Vishnuvardhan's next is Jai

Director Vishnuvardhan, who is currently busy with the multi-starrer Ajith film, but the director’s immediate release in Tamil though, will be Jai.

Some time back Paanja, a Telugu film directed by Vishnuvardhan starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, hit the theatres. The action-entertainer managed an average show at the box office. Now efforts are on to dub and release the movie in Tamil under the title Jai.

Idhayam beats again for Billa 2

Amidst great hype and expectations, Ajith's Billa-2 released across the globe last Friday. As it always happens for any Ajith movie, the film took a grand opening adding strength to the actor being known as the 'king of openings.'

Meanwhile, the makers have decided to add the melodious “Idhayam…” number by Shwetha Pandit, that was earlier deleted from the movie.

It is said the makers decided to cut the song in the Indian release as they felt that it may slow the down the pace of the movie.

Billa 2 was greeted with milk abhishekam

Beyond any doubt, Billa 2 has emerged to be the biggest release of the year so far, as the film hit more than 1200 screens all over the world today (July 13).

Festival mood prevailed in the theatres screening the film, as Ajith fans burst crackers, distributed sweets and conducted milk ‘abhishekams’ to the cut-outs of the matinee idol.

Some theatres in and around Chennai started screening the film as early as 6 a.m. itself and Ajith fans started thronging cinema halls from as early as 4 a.m.
