This Kunal Deshmukh film was a short and sweet love story. Though the main focus of the movie was supposed to be on the Mumbai storm it did not concentrate much on that aspect. It talked more about the relationship between Akshay and Sanjana and less about the incident which took place at Mumbai on 26th July 2005. But it successfully maintained the interest of the audience till the end as the chemistry shared by Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan was worth watching.
It is about a poor guy Akshay (Emraan Hashmi) and a rich girl Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) who fall in love and have a relationship. There is lot of love and happiness but it later gives birth to fights because of their financial differences.
Akshay who is a great artist finally gets a job and wants to settle in Sydney but Sanjana does not want to go as she was well settled with her job. This leads to a break up and after six years the couple meet each other on 26th July 2005 and the old memories are revived.
Soha and Emraan have acted really well and suited for their roles. This is the first time you will find Soha doing such sensuous scenes but she has done her job perfectly. Maybe this movie gives a start to her successful career. Kunal should have concentrated a bit more on the Mumbai storm rather then shifting its focus to the love story. But if we take an overall account then the movie was good enough to watch. It was a short movie which contained many incidents and it was wrapped up properly in a compact way.
The songs of the movie overcome all the negatives; songs like Dil Ibadat, Tum Mile were amazingly good. There are not many characters in the movie and therefore it landed up with a good presentation. Some of the scenes were shot very well for instance the scene in which Soha is stuck inside the car due to the floods and also the last one when Akshay’s friend falls down in the water and dies.
You can surely go for this beautiful love story.
