Was listening to Gulaal's music for a month now. Music was best I have listened in past 4-5 years, lyrics was totally different. "ranaji" was perfect song about whats happening in the world.

Coming back to movie. Its a serious political drama based on wanna be separatist revolutionaries wanting to establish  a separate Rajputana. Being tired of current political situation in the country. But their actions a not different from whats happening right now.

Student politics as the base for starting the political career is used heavily. 

Democracy beer, Constitution Whiskey and Republic Brandy conveys how current politicians think about these concepts.

 Some of the symbolism like 'Ardhanareshwar' along with Piyush Chavla described as the opponent inside. Only sane people who understood really whats happening.

 Try to watch. First half is bit disconnected so wait for second half too if you go.

Mumbai saw horrific day on 11th July 2006. 7 bomb blasts in local trains life line of Mumbai. Several people lost lives and Mumbai was shattered once again. This movie was based on this awful accident. 

This movie showed lives of several residents of Mumbai from different strata of life who got affected by this accident. The emotional, physical trauma they are going though. 

Police who are on duty and wants to do his duty with honor, but forced to get into the system by other police.  

A TV reporter who loose her fiance in bomb blast.

A techie who wants to stay in India and improve his country.

A computer seller who thinks certain people are responsible for the bombs.

A tea vendor who plays pranks by hoax calls of bomb in shopping malls to take revenge of some insult.

Story was fast paced, well told and shot excellently. Job well done by director and cameraman. A must watch. 

Happy Singh (Akki) is the notorious and helpful person in a typical 'we-eat-paratas-and-do-bhangra' village of Punjab. Some of his villagers plan to send him to Australia to get back one of the village lad who was 'King' in Australia ('King' is bigger than 'Don'). The main intention of sending is to drive him away from the village. 

Some goof up and Happy along with Rangila (Om Puri)  reaches Egypt. Here they meet Kat. Egyptian govt deports them to Australia. 

In Australia the story of Singh Becoming King starts.

Movie is good comedy overall. Ranvir Shorey, Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupiya, Kiron Kher played good roles. 

Music is good. All current hot singers like Mikka, Hard Kaur had sung a song for this. The great Snoop Dogg also have a hip-hop song in this. 

My prediction: Hit (after seeing 90% occupancy on friday morning show). 

I went to this movie thing it will be fully funny. But it could not build the laughing tempo.

Main drawbacks of the movie.

1. Mallika is not a good actress

2. Like Pappu Ranvir Shouri too can't dance. 

3. Ranvir Shouri can't make a romantic looking face.

4. Story took emotional turn in second half.

5. Misplaces song.

 From tag line movie looked very good. But was big disappointment.

Mallika played Kuhu a dominating girlfriend of Kabir (Ranvir). They do lots of weird things together. She moves away from him stating some reason. In the end as usual they come together. 

Avoid watching this movie. Stay away from malls and multiplexes.  

If you just retrospect and wonder into into childhood, you will recollect some of your wildest fantasies. I was fascinated about truck drivers job, coconut tree climber and wished of becoming a truck driver, then I was struck by reality and I became engineer. Not that I regret :D. My brother wanted to be a bus conductor and wanted to have "Sudarshan Chakra", for this he gave up eating non-veg just for this, later he realized.

This movie reminded me of "Good old days" which was filled with fascination about random things. The protagonist of the movie young child and his friend were bored of studies and exams. They gave name to their teachers ( :D , typical of high school), sing random songs (check out a aa e song video). This child was always confused because his mother always gives him studying, drinking milk is necessary condition for growing up.

Child was staying with his sister and was missing his mother, his sister was always out of home. that was the reason for the clashes between his bro-in-law and sister.

He decided to run away from home and go to his mother. On way he meets lots of uneducated people who are living in penury and hardship. Like railway driver who misses his lover (Dhanno), blind-begger, lady who died at railway station. This is where reality struck the dream world of you boy.

He takes the decision of continuing his decision. 

Best movie so far in 2008.

This hatke movie is in in genre of 'Bheja Fry'. I like thrilling-comedy movies. They leave an impact on persons mind for quite long.

VK and Rajabhai  are extremes in real life (Both played by Ranvir Shorey). But when a rival gang plots VK into Rajabhai's role (old Don style), thrill in the movie starts with comedy sprayed around. Photo shoot at gunpoint is one of the thrilling+ funny scene in the movie.

Ranvir's reasoning why they won't kill him was again funny yet so real.

Movies moves around with lots of twists and keeps you glued to the screen.

Movie surely not for faint-hearted as said in one more review. 

Katrina is looking hot, even during the premier she was hottest in Pink Sari.

Movie was complete dud with predictable, frequent twists. No sufficient time was given to digest the twists.

Location were picturesque though.

This is a story of two brothers having strong sibling rivalry, but nothing was open. Late father of both brothers made a mistake of buying life insurance policy of 50 million each(Double endowment policy) and gave them the incentives to kill each other to get that money.

Two ladies (Kat and Bips) deceived and  planned with these brothers (who is actually with whom changes every 5 minutes).

Last 30 minutes of movies were were praying to god to make it boring.

 Avoid the movie.

Songs are ok. 

This is a 2D animation movie of Hanuman's rebirth in kaliyug. Hanuman asks Bhrahma to permit him to go to earth.

This is not the sequel of first Hanuman movie. This movie starts with mother of Minku narrating him a story of Rahu, Ketu and Shukracharya. Minku, Mummi and Daddu were always ill treated by their classmates. Somewhere in the haven Hanuman manipulates Brahma with the help of Naradmuni and gets permission to reborn as a Monkey like human after signing a contract.

A hungry child is born at one pandit's house who eats almost everything in the fortunate (:D ) village of Bajarangpur, he start going to school at the age and 3. This child befriends Minku, Munni and Duddu. Their foursome haves lots of fun in school and overall.

 This was a very funny movie with lots situational jokes and spoof from popular movies,actor of bollywood, hindu mythology.

This movie is really not a children's movie  as they won't understand jokes of spoof of Sholay and bollywood.

Movie is not a drag and movies very smoothly. Animation is not 2D so not very impressive. Storyboard is good and characters were awesome.

Go and watch this movie as no good movie is around. 

Ishan was born with god's dice loaded against him. He was suffering from dyslexia. With parent not trying to accept his disorder and had opinion that he is displaying this behavior just to avoid studying. Aamri with his entry as not-usually-found-creative-teacher just before interval identifies the problem, meet his parent and headmaster of the school and helps Ishan to getover is disorder and get him back his self-confidence.

Dyslexia is the basic subject handled in this movie. Although a commercial movie, this movie didn't had usually found love interest of the protagonist. Coming back to basic subject dyslexia needed more explanation and movie could have given little more screen presence to the method Aamir employed to help Ishan. 

Music was good and Prasoon Joshi did a good job at lyrics.

Location were beautiful and good fit for the scene. 

All said and done this is a must watch specially for the parents of young kids ,would be parents and wanted to be parents.

Trivia about this movie, this is SRK's favorite movie.

 I saw this movie completely yesterday (that too twice, once on laptop and on TV -- it was coming on zoom). 

Songs -- Awesomest (awesome was little milder word).

Dialogue -- Good .. (Note mat kar, feel kar. Idhar se jao, Udhar se jao sab rasta god ke paas jaata hai).

SRK ... hmmmmmmm heheheheh

Film is based and shot in Goa. So all the locations are familiar to me. Satish Shah keep on singing one fully konkani song "Kazar Jayna Mhanun Mhatari Dukhani Rotta" (Old lasy is crying because her marriage is not getting fixed). So  I have few more reasons to like the movie.

Story is simple and have a message in the end. Things do happen in life, just try to live it fully, don't cry for things just move on for better things.

The gist is a small incident can change your outlook towards life.

This movie has 10 stories. No common character and they do not meet in the end (other then for a casting song).

Shantanu has already described all the 10 stories. I'll pick 3 of my favorites.

1. Night With A Stranger.

Crux of the story "things are misinterpreted at first look". Neha Dhupiya played awesome role in this story.

2. Puranmasi 

 Interrelated events resulting into destruction. Collapse of whole life of Amrita. This story was heart-wrecking .

3. Rise and Fall.

Thirst for power blinds even a closest friends. But rule of the world is what goes up comes down someday. Thats the story of Baba and Nawab.

This movie displayed wide spectrum of human emotions and human life. Destiny deciding incidents. Although this is amalgam of 10 short stories (10 mins each) its much better then the ones of RGV's factory.

Movie is certainly watch-able  once.

Group of asians in UK (called "Pakis" by locals) nurtures dreams of doing big and winning football league for the Southall Football club (Football==soccer).

The story is usual, team is in bad shape, they find coach with a emotional burden of being part of losing side in his prime playing days and finally after facing million predictable toubles they manage to win the league.

 CDI also had similar story but was carried by able shorders of SRK, dialogues, SRK's dialogue delivery and gripping story. This movie was not anywhere near that, Boman didn't do justice to the role of coach.

Arshad was always in sad mood, John was with his stern face. Only positive of this movie is Bipasha "Billo Chaman Bahar" Basu. 

Music is good. Daler paaji have put life into the song. Picturization was below standard and edition was shady.

Pretty avoidable movie. Preferrably go for a long run and grab some beer in recluse. 

This is a movie about a lower middle class, less educated girl gets dragged into flash trade to get her family out of terrible financial problems. 

After seeing financial problem in her home back in beautiful city of Banaras, Rani deicides to go to the "Dream city" for most "Aamchi Mumbai".  Because of her not so good educational background and her need, some guy takes her advantage by making a false promise of
job.

This breaks Rani but one her friend gives her the strength to see her need and get into becoming an escort. Movie dragged a bit here. Conditions at Rani's home improves and movies proceeds ,..

I was waiting for usual twists in the movie but none came ...

Music was ok ( It actually means not impressive ... )

Sets and locations were realastic and Yash Chopra takes you for a ride to Switzarland. 

I think Mujra by Hema Malini set the tone of the movie. 

Overall movie was ok.

AFAIR this movie is the first one which came up with good comic strip and I love comic strips.

Music was good. Specially Hum-Tum, a Punjabi remix by Rishi Rich and Veronica, Gore Gore. Saif played witty role.

 This is the movie about overcomplicated simple relation between man and woman. How they always fight on minor things. How they don't like things about each other but still like each other. How they miss each other.

This movie few twists and turns. With some big stars coming in a comeo role.

Overall movie is easy going, funny, emotional, good musical and something to take home.

Lets start with some trivia 

*Its our own version of 1956 hollywood movie "A Kiss Before Dying". 

*First film of "craze of UK" Shilpa Shetty.

*This is first film of SRK in negetive role.

 Simple plot of revenge. Pycho SRK plans to kill daughters of his families "reason of barbaadi" (Played by Dilip Tahil). That jerk kills shilpa shetty by throwing her from top of building and also had similar thing for Kajol. 

Movie was bit fast paced thriller with nicely placed comedy by Johney Leaver.  BTW latest comedy king Raju Shrivastav also played a small role in this (Shilpa's classmate or one of friend).

Its good watchable movie. Without usual SRK hmmmmmmm heyyyyyyyyyy  but you will see SRK shivering with anger.

Music is good with tracks like "Kali Kali Aankhen", "Baazigar","Chupana Bhi Nahin aata". Anu Malik and Rupkumar Rathod also played comeo roles in song "Chupana Bhi nahin aata".

Remake of "pulp fiction". Fast moving movie .  Abhay Deol, Ashok Samarth (Malvanker) played good roles.

Neha Dhupia was again not upto the mark, I think she will mature in another 7-8 years, she has lost of potential.Ponappa, Bhujang, Tavde, Naidu, Habiba, Mangesh Chilke all were apt in there roles.  These little individual performances lifted the movie.

Locations were shady as expected. Surely not a family movie, no romance, no goodie, goodies scenes.  Everytime somebody is in trouble.

Lots of gross dialogues and scenes. 

Apparently this movie is Based on one of the greatest movie ever made "Seven Samurai'. I myself don't give much importance to stories of the movie. For me what matters is movie should present a story/concept in local context.

Thats what exactly done by Sholay. Along with awesome dialogues and  songs. Duo of Jai, Veeru along with Thakur and Gabbar.Taangewali Basanti and her 'ijjat bachanewali' Dhanno. Angrejonke jamaneke jailar sahab 'Jo kabhi nahi sudhre'. Surmabhopali and his stories. Kalia, Sambha and other useless dakus.

Inspite of having so many charcters, even smallers one's like one who says 'Jab angrez log marte hain usse sooside kehte hain' are still remembered. 

AFAIK only few Bollywood movies have a cult following and I don't have any doubt that sholay is biggest amongst them.
