Very good movie.. but has lot of pot holes... It has all time funny characters who entertain all the way.. but aren't there too many of them??? The story wanders in the 2nd half of the movie.. failing to concentrate on every character. Akshay, anil n Nana steal the show... Katrina good in the songs.. [:)].. Mallika not required.. Worth watching...

When Dr. Ghungroo realizes his faux pas he tries to escaping the fury of the brothers. Hilarity ensues as each of theb diametrically different brothers begins engaging in smart and engagingly comic stunts to get the uncle to agree to the alliance.

This fall-down funny comedy takes another turn when a stunning bomb (Mallika Sherawat) who claims to be Rajiv's fiancee shows up on the scene and adds to the commotion and mayhem.

Welcome, as d trailers had suggested is a time pass kinda comedy movie... the film however brings out new things to d comic genre... revolving arnd paresh rawal tryin to fing a suitable bride 4m a clean family for akshay in diff. style the movie has several comic moments... using d hit pair of akki nd katrina, the director has played safe as well as using other renowned faces including anil kapoor frm his earlier comic hit 'no entry'! akki has been doin stunts right frm his 1st film but here he appears as a 'sharif' guy nd allows katrina to rescue him frm a fire and carry him outside... the most splendid thng abt welcome, however is the chemistry of anil kapoor and nana patekar as brothers in crime which will make u feel tht d movie 'partner' should hav been made wid these two!Tongue out nana, in a comic role s also a 'welcome' change. feroze khan s also seen in his kind of a role wid some good lines...mallika sherawat, as d love interest of both anil and nana also does well. The story seems a li'll bit offtrack at times nd excess no. of songs makes d audience lose concentration in d plot. music s nt tht spl except d peppy nmbr 'kiya kiya'. all said nd done, welcome is a watchable movie mainly for d comic situations, confusions nd the xcellent chemistry between nana and anil...

It's a proven fact by now that Akshay Kumar in a comedy is the safest bet for an audience. It's always been a paisa wasool affair so far and this time also Akshay doesn't disappoint his fans. There is bonus also in Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Katrina Kaif is so beautiful that I wont mind spending 200 bucks just to see her. Overall it was a must watch for me and so I did this Saturday. Also, this movie proves that Fardeen has learned his acting skills from his dad. You seem to dislike the film whenever Firoz Khan is on the screen. Why did he come back from his retirement.

The movie is the story of Rajiv (Askhay Kumar), whose mama (Paresh Rawal) is looking for a girl to marry him. But there is one condition, the girl should be from a shareef and izzatdar khandan. During the course of events Rajiv falls in love with Sanjana (Katrina Kaif), who happens to be the sister of don Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar). Who along with his friend and fellow bhai Majnoo Bhai (Anil Kapoor) is also looking for a shareef khandan to marry his sister. The movie is about how Rajiv convinces his mama to let him marry Sanjana. There is also the efforts of Uday and Majnoo to add to the laughter. The story makes you laugh with some twists here and there and some really funny scenes in between.

Akshay, Nana and Anil are first rate in the acting department. Paresh Rawal is also good as Rajiv's mama. Malaika Arora adds to the oomph with the item song "hoth raseele". There is Mallika Sherawat also, she has done OK. The only person who really irritates you with his overacting is Firoz Khan. The story is OK, full of twists here and there to keep the audience occupied and every twist add to the laughter. I also did not like the climax of the movie. It really didn't suit the mood of the film. I think Anees Bazmi didn't really found a good way to end an otherwise good film.

Overall I would rate this movie as 7 out of 10. Watch it and enjoy your Christmas.

Welcome to the crazy, mad, funny, outlandish, outrageous, zany world of WELCOME, directed by Anees Bazmee, who gave us the rib-tickling NO ENTRY. Bazmee is a veteran when it comes to leave-your-brains-at-home comic capers, having penned and helmed non-stop laughathons in the past.

The question is, does WELCOME make you break into guffaws? The question is, does WELCOME measure up to the mammoth expectations surrounding it? The question is, will WELCOME be as big a hit as NO ENTRY?

WELCOME follows the same path as David Dhawan and Priyadarshan movies. The mantra is simple: Lock your brains at home, throw your worries out of the window for the next 2 hours and get ready to embrace a world where logic and sense have no place… In short, WELCOME remains faithful to the genre from start to end. Bazmee borrows a bit from the likable Hugh Grant starrer MICKEY BLUE EYES [also bears an uncanny resemblance to SHAADI SE PEHLE] and adds loads of Indian masala to make the proceedings spicy and tangy. Lo and behold! WELCOME succeeds in tickling your funny bone at most places. The humour is basic and even absurd, but it works well in a film like this.

To cut a long story short, WELCOME is one of those entertainers that deliver what it promises: Funny sequences, super performances and loads and loads of laughter. Without doubt, WELCOME will be welcomed with open arms by the aam junta!

Uday Shetty [Nana Patekar], Majnu [Anil Kapoor] and their boss, Sikander [Feroz Khan], are basically three Hong Kong-based serio-comic mobsters, who are keen to get Uday’s sister Sanjana [Katrina Kaif] married into a respectable family.

Uday, who accidentally meets the handsome bachelor Rajiv [Akshay Kumar], gets convinced that the latter would be an appropriate match for Sanjana. Meanwhile, Sanjana, who is totally unaware of her brother’s plans, also meets Rajiv separately and they fall in love. She has the acceptance of Dr. Ghunghroo [Paresh Rawal], Rajiv’s uncle, who is unaware of the fact that she is Uday’s sister.

When Dr. Ghunghroo realizes his faux pas, he decides against the marriage. The entire plot takes a U-turn when a stunning bombshell [Mallika Sherawat] arrives on the scene and claims to be Rajiv’s wedded wife, which only adds to the hullabaloo and chaos.

You realize you won’t need your thinking caps at the very outset. Note the introductory sequences of Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal and Anil Kapoor. They set the mood of the film. Also, the first hour has several humorous moments and you enjoy the one-liners that the characters keep delivering every now and then.

The director makes sure to open three more surprises in the post-interval hour -- Feroz Khan, Mallika Sherawat and Vijay Raaz, who is introduced in the first half, but gets scope only in the second half. The sequences between Nana and Mallika and also between Anil and Mallika are truly funny. Also, the marathon portion at the funeral is sure to bring the house down.

Of course, there’re loose ends. The pace dips in the second hour, a few jokes seem repetitive and therefore, don’t evoke the required mirth. Also, the music could’ve been better. Only two songs come easy on your lip [the ones that are promoted], but the chartbusting quality is missing.

Bazmee’s direction does justice to the material. The director and his team of writers [Rajiv Kaul, Praful Parekh] don’t deviate from the core issue and pack the script with inane stuff, but the impact is so funny that you break into a hysterical laughter at places. The Kaul and Parekh jodi, known for writing a number of David Dhawan and Indra Kumar films in the past, are back in true form after a long time.

As mentioned earlier, the music is a mixed bag. ‘Uncha Lamba Kadh’ and ‘Tera Sarafa’ [Anand Raaj Anand] are the best tracks of the enterprise and the choreography of these numbers take them further, but the remaining songs are below average. Dialogues are laced with wit and enjoyable, especially those delivered by Nana, Paresh and Anil. Sanjay F. Gupta’s cinematography is striking. The locales of Dubai and South Africa give the film a grandiose look. The effects [especially in the climax -- the house collapse sequence] are tacky.

Although WELCOME boasts of a formidable star cast and every actor handles his/her part with effortless ease, the one who registers the maximum impact is Nana Patekar. Nana is in terrific form, the real scene-stealer. It’s a treat to watch this accomplished actor essay a role that’s in stark contrast to the ones he’s known for [intense, hard-hitting characters]. His comic timing is fantastic!

Akshay is equally competent. He looks every inch the seedha-saadha guy, who is torn between his lady love on one hand and the two factions [Paresh versus Nana, Anil & Co.] on the other. This film should find a prominent place in his repertoire.

Anil Kapoor comes up with yet another dhamaka. The actor compliments Nana beautifully and handles his role with precision. Paresh Rawal is superb yet again. He continues to make people laugh, even though he has consistently starred in umpteen funny movies.

Although the meatier scenes are reserved for the men, there’s no denying that Katrina gives her role the freshness that it demands. Also, she looks bewitching. Mallika Sherawat is electrifying. Although she makes an appearance in the second half, the confidence with which she carries her part is what works in her favour.

Feroz Khan is in form. Vijay Raaz is first-rate yet again. Supriya Karnik, Snehal Dhabi, Adi Irani, Mushtaq Khan and Sherveer Vakil are adequate. Suniel Shetty is there for a scene only; he’s okay.

On the whole, WELCOME is a fun ride all the way. The tremendous hype for the film has resulted in a tremendous start at the ticket window and the 5-day weekend as also the lack of biggies in the subsequent weeks will help WELCOME reach the ‘Smash Hit’ status in days to come.

first things first, the movie is 3.5 stars worth, its another case of short skits (which are continuous at times and discontinued at other) weaved together to make a movie, chaos in between and at the end (priyadarshan ishtyle) to have some fun... though the basic story line is good enough to have a better story... so if you liked partner, dhamaal, golmaal (2006) etc etc, you might as well like this one...

the story is abt a don uday shetty (nana) who wants to get her sister (katrina) married to a nice guy and trying hard to find it... munna bhai (anil) is his right hand... on the other hand we have dr ghungroo (paresh rawal) who has a nephew (akshay) and paresh wants a match for akshay from a very neat and clean family... there is some initial match and mis-match, followed by akshay and katrina falling in love... the condition for them to get married is to make sure uday and munna leave bhaigiri... then there is big brother of both of them RDX (feroze khan)... the story moves with some fooling around and lots of fun and chaos... and has a cameo by mallika also (she looks hot and could act too!)... it has happy ending finally!

overall pretty good performances by nana, anil and feroze, they pretty much steal the show... akshay is wasted big time, he is a nice guy and does not get to display his comic skills to the fullest (man, i missed that!)... paresh is okay, katrina looks good, mallika looks hot...  the movie is a bit long so you get ample chance to laugh... music is very okayish, pops up anywhere kinds...

Welcome is a movie about gangsters(anil, nana) and their quest to get their sister(sanjana/katrina) married. On the other hand - Akshay's uncle (paresh) is bent upon getting him into a nice sharif family. Hence both of them are stuck on their marriage front. Now akshay & katrina meet by chance and fall in love. And then the story continues with ample amount of confusion, flip flops, dramas and has a happy ending :).

It is a total masala movie - with many skits interveawed together. The movie is hilarious in some segments, but I found it slow/boring in some others. Its little lengthy also.

Acting wise - every one is good. Feroz khan as RDX (god father) is awesome !. Katrina has improved a lot. Akshay,Anil,Nana are good actors anyway ..

Music is strictly okay - nothing great

Overall its at most a once watch movie - typical masala/fun movie. I would give it 3 stars ..
