Goody Goody Movie, but the special effect tortures

Overall Rating

This is a regular Kunal Kapoor's movie. Filled with all the goody goody scenes.

Saif, Rani have done justice to their roles. Saif has got in his character and hass donethe transformation from Hard to Soft very well. His transformation is the winning point of this movie. Rani looks really cute and dont worry aboyt her fashion sense, she looks cute both as a Human and an Angel too. The romantic scenes between Rani and Saif are tooo good and must say their chemistry rocks. Especially the dialogue, "Jab yahaan dard hota tab yahaan se aansu nikalte hain".

Ameesha is given a silly character, but she has sizzled in the song "Lazy Lamhe".

But, the show stealers are the Kids. Seriously, kids have started taking over Bollywood nowadays. Especially the gal kids have acted very well, with good expressions.

Tats with the goody stuff.

But, the spoiler part is, Kunal Kapoor has started hamming with his special effect scenes a lot. The special effects are disgusting, especially the angel scenes. Rishi Kapoor has been wasted. The songs are a big dissapointment, except Lazy Lamhe.

Kunal tried to do a Hum-Tum and a Ta-Ra-Rum-Pum mix over here taking the Saif-Rani duo plus kids. But, sorry Kunal take off the special effects , put some good songs and even some more good scenes.

I felt like he has tried to wrap up the movie, carelessly.

Well, all in all a nice movie to watch and forget. Watch this movie with kids and wife, if you have. :)

Waiting for some good movie like Hum-Tum, next time from Kunal Kapoor.

Ranvir Talwar ( Saif Ali Khan ) is a self-made man who grew up as an orphan. He has got everything – a flourishing business empire, a sensuous bimbo in tow ( Amisha Patel ), a swanky bungalow and, not to forget, a constant frown on his face. But he’s got no time.

Ranvir’s life changes after a car accident in which a couple dies because of his mistake. The court, instead of kicking him off to prison, gives an unusual verdict. Ranvir has to be the guardian of the four orphans of the dead couple and take care of them until the youngest of them becomes an adult.

But the kids hate Ranvir. And Ranvir feels no different towards them. Put up in the house of their parents’ killer, the kids plot revenge.

It would take nothing less than a divine intervention to foster peace and love between Ranvir and the vengeful tots. The good God himself takes the trouble of summoning one of his favourite fairies, Geeta ( Rani Mukherjee ), to go to the world of humans and do His work.

And down she comes, cycling on a rainbow (like some lost sister of Lance Armstrong) and straight into the life of Ranvir and his four cute ill-wishers. What happens thereafter better be seen than written about.

The most commendable thing about ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ is that it makes the most ludicrous of scenes engaging and fun to watch. Be it the fairy (as the nanny of the kids) turning the boring National Museum into a magical, living theatre of history, or the four naughty kids ruining the poolside party of Ranvir’s skimpily clad squeeze (Amisha) – you relish it all with the buoyancy of an adolescent yourself.

Besides humour, the film is also high on melodrama. I know it has almost become a dreadful word – thanks to many a weepy Bollywood movies – but the tear-jerking scenes in TPTM don’t pinch you like other run-of-the-mill sob tales. You bear them, at times with suppressed embarrassment of being seen moist-eyed by the fellow sitting next to you in theatre.

Saif Ali Khan does superb as the frowning, scowling, busy-as-a-bee businessman who gradually transforms into a loving, caring, doting guardian. Rani Mukherjee is pretty good as the blabbermouth fairy who performs magical feats as if she was doing something trivial, like playing carrom. And it is a great relief to see her play a character that doesn’t weep.

Amisha Patel is convincing as the minimally clad, dumb bimbo with a superficial accent. The kids are all right. The sardar kid (Iqbal) wins you over with his humour.

Kunal Kohli’s direction has many rough edges. For instance, his style of shot composition needs a great deal of improvement. The film’s music is also ho-hum.

Apart from this, ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ is pretty enjoyable. It has many engaging moments. My favourite is the one in which Iqbal tells Ranvir that he doesn’t want to be a Sikh. Another favourite of mine comes at the end. I’m not sure if the director intended it. But on a street in Hollywood, the camera captures two delightful words written on a wall. The words are: Buck Fush. Written on an American street, it doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what they mean.

‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ does not belong to any one actor. Speaking in cricket parlance, it’s a team effort.

I was really very eager to see my favorite pair Saif Ali Khan & Rani Mukherjee after the Blockbusters Hum – Tum & Ta Ra Rum Pum. Now here by the review of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic …

‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ does not belong to any one actor. Speaking in cricket parlance, it’s a team effort.

Verdict: All cinematic blasphemies can be forgiven when you see a delightful, heart-winning tale filled with fun, frolic, fantasy and some tear-jerking drama unfold on the screen. That’s what Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic is.

Yash Raj productions have'nt given a hit for quite a long time....this will do good them

Kunal Kohli has done a wonderfull job...but i dont think rani mukherjee did justice to what the director thought of...

Rani looked awfull(sorry 4 her fans)....she was good in that angel part..but when she became human i did'nt like her at all...i hate her fashion sence...n her punjabi to----mashallaUndecided!!!!i guess ash would have been a better choice as n angel bcz of her elegent, charming n innocent looks

..i guess rani has lost her charm...she has gained lodzzza wieght n did not do such a good job in acting aswell

Saif did complete justice to his role even though i m not his fan..he really got in to the charecter.

The showstealers were the 4 orphans who put thier real efforts....all were equally good

the movie could have been better n a little bit longer....n i think Rishi Kapoor could have been given a longer role

Thoda fun Thoda magic!

The first show of "Thoda pyaar Thoda magic" was a housefull here at cochin, usually this kind of response is not recieved for most of recent movies, especially bolly movies. I was really eager to see my favourite pair Rani and Saif after a nice Hum-Tum, and Kunal kohli, after blovkbuster "Fanaa".

Ranbeer Talwar (Saif Ali Khan) is a pretty successful businessman. Though he has been pretty much the achiever at everything he has done since childhood, he has only stood to lose the people he loves. And this loner’s life takes the plunge when he ends up killing a couple (the Walias) in a road accident.

However the twist is that instead of a prison sentence, the judge hands out a controversial judgement whereby the accused Ranbeer is given the complete responsibility of the four kids of the deceased couple. Ranbeer realizes that this is not going to be an easy task especially with the foursome out to seek revenge. Even his bimbo girlfriend Malaika (Amisha Patel) ends up failing to win the hearts of the kids.

That is when God himself (Rishi Kapoor), dressed in all white, decides that he shall dispatch his angel down to earth to help out the kids. And he finds no better candidate than the bubbly Geeta (Rani Mukherjee). Now it is up to Geeta to pose as a nanny and ensure that she completes her task of getting Ranbeer and the kids together!

Kunal kohli does a fine job, as he rises upto expectations and proves that he can handle serious subjects like "Fanaa" alongside with such good family entertainers. Music is really enjoyable, especially "Pyar ke liye" and "Nihaal ho gayi". Rani is excellent and proves he can do challenging roles like the fairy. Saif too looks very good with Rani. Kids are really exceptional. Item girl Amisha has nothing special to do. Rishi Kapoor does his short role well.

The drawbacks of this movie - Well, Kohli would have done better with the movie though. A typical kids flick should have avoided "Lazy Lamhe", but still it might draw some adult audience to see this item number. Special effects were used too much, and sometimes its too childish! Adults looking for some serious stuff might not be satisfied though.

Thoda pyar Thoda magic, is a very nice movie to watch, a couple of hours of emotions packed with fun and magic. Ok say, TPTM is a typical kids movie, but the movie is really an enjoyable version for adults too. I was certainly disappointed with all recent releases like "De Taali", "Sarkar Raj", and especially with flop "Mere Baap Pehle Aap" - a crude and cruel remake of superhit mallu movie - "Ishtam". This movie is a real life-saver for Yashraj films after Mega flops like Tashan, Aaja Nachle, and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. This movie is soaring above expectations, as it gives a really nice ride, and i am pretty sure that this movie is a definite hit - and a family entertainer that you must watch with your family. I would really recommend this movie, a nice cute entertainer - go for it!

YashRaj banners has lost it charm and doing mistakes one after another.

I am not sure this movie will turn out to be success or another dud in Yashraj Camp.

Film is good but just above average, Saif looks tired in the movie so Rani, the best things are kids who are the life line of the script, kunal kohli is a good director, but its not so perfect , something missing, Music is ok ok nothing special, Amisha is wasted in un wanted character, she has lost her charming totally, and doing part time small role.

Over All movie is watchable once.

Rish in cameo role as god is ok.
