Well, “The Ring Continues” defines that the Scenes of the Movie Raaz- The Mystery Continues are almost Carbon Copy OF the Hollywwod Horor Block Buster The Ring (Both parts) and some the storyline too has been adopted from the Movie. And Mind it. It is not the Sequel to the Earlier Raaz. But All in all the Movie stands out for more than one reason which are : Story and Screenplay : The Story is largely inspired from the Ring but the Indianaized Version of the Story makes it believable for the So called believers of the subject. Otherwise the youngistan generation would find it hard to Grasp being the Supernatural Drama. But mind-blowing Screenplay of Shagufta Rafique helped the Subject give the thorough strength. Direction : Mohit Suri , just 4 movie old before Raaz- The Mystery Continues , has, would you believe , done a remarkable job in handling such a Volatile Subjact Considering the fact the Horror Movies Don’t do well in India like it does in the Hollywood. And Goodness Gracious me, Mohit Portrays Emraan Hashmi like no one could. The Story looses grip in the Climax but Mohit’s Treatment has saved the Movie and made it rather convincing. Cast and Performance : Emraan Hashmi steals the Show with Career boosting performance. No wonder when Mohit is directing, Emaraan makes it count like he did in Zeher and Aawarapan. His looks were also designed to match the subject and does the trick. Kangna, after Fashion , Gives yet another Power packed performance. This Girls surely has Talent. Adhyayan Suman(kid of well-known Celebrity Shekhar Suman) gives Convincing Performance so far as the debut Performance Gors . But the Movie Won’t Do much help to him as such since the Show was stolen completely by Kangna and Emraan. Jackie Shroff looks Okay as Emaraan Dad. But he is pathetic as the Ghost in the Movie. Music : Now comes the Most Brilliant Part of the Movie. MUSIC. Which has rocked the Charts all over the World. Maahi , O Jaana, and banda re and kaisa yeh raaz hai are Supirior in terms of the Totality. And Soniyo by Sonu Nigam is just the feather on the head. Yes. Sonu Nigam is Sonu Nigam. Although I like the other version of the song Soniyo beter. Lyrics as usual by Sayeed Qadri unforgettable. Raju Singh the Music Director surely deserves Three Chers. Technicals : Background Score in the Horor Flicks plays a huge part and Raju Singh made it authentic. Editing and Special Effects are of impressive Quality. Not much attention is diverted to the technicalities as the Vishesh Films(Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s Production house) leaves no room for error so far as the Technicalities are concerned. Now, I would really love to excuse those Frame To Frame copied Scenes of the Ring in light of honest effort of making the movie so entertaining. 3.5 Stars all the way to the team of Raaz. UD… |

At first, I thought that maybe this movie won't be good, but after hearing "Maahi" and "Soniyo" and "Kaisa Yeh Raaz Hai" then seeing the promos, I knew I was wrong. The movie is excellent! Kangana Ranaut did a great job! She owned the film. Her look was thrilling and her expressions were great. Emraan Hashmi has improved on his acting and he really gave off a performance. Adhyayan did terrible in "Haal-E-Dil", but in this film, he proved he has a spot in Bollywood. A brooding artist Prithvi (Emraan), experiences mysterious & distressing visions about Nandita (Kangana), a woman he has never met, while he paints on canvas. Intrigued by these visions, Prithvi tracks her down and warns her that these are not merely paintings of her, but accidents that are waiting to happen! At first, Nandita refuses to believe him and dismisses him as an eccentric stalker. However, the striking resemblance between Prithvi's paintings and the near - death incidents in her life is hard to ignore. Haunted by a series of deathly and paranormal experiences, her reason crumbles in the face of fear. Now, one of Prithvi's paintings has revealed her as dead! The only way she can change her fate, is to unravel this mystery with his help, at the risk of alienating herself from her boyfriend, Yash, who is a rational and logical man. But he refuses to believe in Prithvi's premonitions. Will Nandita risk her love and her life to unravel this mystery? Is there no escape at all? Mohit smartly builds up the atmosphere. Sample these: Emraan and Kangna's first encounter at a mall and minutes later, inside an elevator; the New Year bash when Kangna is 'attacked' by spirits; Kangna's experience in her bathtub and also when she looks at the mirror; Kangna almost jumping off a cliff; the highpoint sequence, when angry bulls attack Emraan and Kangna. Incredible sequences all! Mohit has handled the most difficult portions with panache. Horrifying? Certainly, in places, especially when an ATM turns nasty, a bunch of bisons turn murderous, Kangana gets transformed into an abusive man or has her wrists slit in the bath tub. The film however gets wrapped up in a clumsy climax, as most horror films do and does tend to drag in places. Although it is still a great movie, the clumsy climax does not effect the film that much.
Kangana looks so fabulous in the film and her acting skills...lets not discuss that. She brings full power into her character. The movie is a must-watch. I don't care if the movie does bad at the box-office, it is good. The songs in the movie that really stand out are "Maahi Ve" which has already set the charts straight and "Soniyo" which is a romantic track that creates a new dimention in Bollywood filmi music. Another flaw is the ending, but that doesn't affect it either. To sum it all up, the movie is great and those simple flaws does not make the movie not get a 5 out of 5. Mohit deserves this as he has taken his time to make the horror genre stand out and it is one of the best Bollywood horror film since "Bhoot". Now after this, many directors will start making horror films. WATCH IT! |

Mohit Suri’s Raaz – The Mystery Continues isn’t a sequel as the title suggests. It’s a horror flick with a difference… it has a moral!? You hear it loud and clear whether you want to or not. It starts off at a remote temple in an eerily lovely locale by the seaside with an Adam’s Family’s butler look alike. And then switches to the glam Naditha sashaying down a ramp when she is not madly in love with her boyfriend Yash who hosts a reality show called AndhVishwas. Until Prithivi an artist enters the picture with an ominous warning. Prithivi rids her of her demons and she rids him of his beer. In the meanwhile, the bhoot gets busy as Suri builds up the scare factor…lights flicker, doors bang, blood and other gory stuff add to the effect. The movie’s climax is shot against a backdrop of the painting of The Last Supper that is minus Jesus. Kangana Ranaut as Nanditha is impressive as she shrieks, levitates, gives some unoriginal gaalis to Maharishi Somebody-Or-The-Other and is taken over by the naughty bhoot. It helps that she is skimpily dressed….adds to the visual appeal. Adyayan Suman as Yash steals the smooches from right under Emraan Hashmi’s nose. One of those love to hate characters. Emraan Hashmi as Prithvi broods and dresses like a punk when he is not painting Nanditha’s fate. And ya, the music’s good. Not a surprise with Hashmi’s movies. Jackie Shroff makes an appearance too, a brief one. The movie’s worth a watch as we don’t see too many of this genre. |
