Quick Gun Murugun

            Here comes a movie which will make us rethink about all the physical laws we studied in school. The out of the world action sequences have been made the theme of this film but while doing this the writer ended up with no story.

            Rajendra Prasad who has played the character of Quick Gun is an Indian cowboy who is killed by Rice Plate Reddy (Naseer), a non - veg freak who wants to turn everyone in town into  a non - vegetarian.  But  Murugun gets a second chance by Chitragupt (Vinay Pathak) and lands in Mumbai after 25 years to take his revenge on Reddy. During his search for Reddy he meets a voluptuous and sexy bar dancer, Mango Dolly (Rambha), who eventually falls for Murugun. Mango Dolly helps Murugun find Reddy. Will good triumph over the evil is what the rest of the movie is about.  There were  other characters  like  Gunpowder, Rowdy MBA who were not as funny as their names. 

           Even though director Shashanka Ghosh got investors for this project he could not come up with a convincing end product. There were plots which could have been encashed but he could not bring out  any interesting situations out of it. Among the cast only Naseer who played Rice Plate Reddy deserves a mention and the rest you will forget as soon as you come out of the theater. There were cameos by Sandhya Mridul, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey but did not work as they had nothing special to do.

           The director tried too hard to make us laugh which went against the film along with the script which was like a blank paper. The movie was meant to be a comedy but the body count in this movie is a little less than what we saw in Total Recall . 

           The vision of making an out of line comedy lacked application which made the movie a disaster. It takes a lot of thinking to make such kind of spoofs, which is clearly lacking. For me this movie has nothing to die for.
