Fairytales are making a comeback in Bollywood with Maruti Mera Dosst. This family entertainer has witches and innocent little girls. It promises some spectacular visual effects.
The story revolves around Rameshwari, a motherless girl. Seeing her need for some motherly affection her father Kunwar Raghavendra Singh marries Mohini. They get more than they bargained for when into their lives comes Kokoi, an evil witch who is scheming to lay her hands on their riches. Her partners in crime are the Tantrik Bhakshu and her brother Sadhu Pahalwan.
Kokoi never anticipates the power of Rameshwari’s friend Maruti, who is Lord Hanuman in disguise and his godly intervention saves the day. When she sees that her wicked magic is backfiring because of Maruti, she manipulates Rameshwari, so that the little girl sends Maruti away.
That’s the beginning of the end for Rameshwari. Or is it?
