i rate love aajkal as **** out of 5.....the story is fantastic...the script is fabulously and intelligently written.....the portrayal of each character is outstanding......songs are beautifully picturised.....the cinematography of the film is excellent.....the editing is fantastic.......acting by deepika and saif is absolutely fantastic(specially their stable acting in their closeups)....deepika is as usual...looking gorgeous......but the only part of the film which should have been much better....specially to covey a message like this... a bit disappointing.....but it was not bad........but still MOVIE IS A MUST WATCH........

Traditional Bollywood lovefest, not one but two. The first belongs to the modern era while the second to our grandparents' era.
Direction & Screenplay
Imtiaz Ali's films are never strong in terms of their story but they still manage to strike a chord, only because the director knows how to develop very believable characters. Like Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal too aims to be a character-driven film but somewhere down the line it falters due to sub-standard writing. The major problem is the lack of originality due to which both the love stories collapse like a pack of cards. Surprisingly, even the characters lack depth and relationships are handled superficially. On a brighter note, Imtiaz continues to write witty and clever dialogues. And, his treatment of the 60s' love story is praiseworthy, aptly complemented by Teddy Maurya's impressive production design and Ravikant Bhakre's art direction.
