Lage Raho Munna Bhai is the second movie in the Munnabhai series. Though the lead characters are the same the story does not follow the first one and hence is not technically a sequel. Munna (Sanjay Dutt), a lovable goon pretends to be a Gandhi scholar to win the heart of a beautiful radio anchor – Jhanvi (Vidya Balan). But as he reads more and more about Gandhi to keep up his deception, he begins to hallucinate that he can see Gandhi. He starts practicing Gandhi's teachings as 'Gandhigiri' with hilarious results. The scene in the toilet (vinamrata se), the first meeting with Jhanvi, the college scene, the paan spitting scenes, the old man getting back at the corrupt bureaucrat, Circuit talking to Gandhiji, Munna's response after the goon slaps him twice and Munna and Circuit's scenes in jail are all excellent. Screenplay and dialogues by RajKumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi are excellent. The movie is filled with some of the best one liners in Hindi cinema.
Music by Shantanu Moitra is pretty good though they ripped off the song 'Pal Pal' from the Cliff Richard's song 'Theme for a dream'. The songs 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai', 'Samjho ho hi gaya' and 'Pal Pal' are all beautifully picturized and choreographed. Cinematography by C.K. Muraleedharan is very good both indoors as well as outdoors.
munna and circuit continue the laugh riot and it was real fun... the chemistry between the two and the timing of arshad warsi was too good... everyone else also acted very well.. overall a movie which is totally clean comedy with no tinge of sex or vulgar jokes and has message of gandhigiri... reminds of hrishikesh mukerjee kind of movies, the middle class comedies that you can watch with family... looking forward to next movie from this gang...
The first part of MUNNA BHAI was much better than this one. One of the reasons being that the first part had set the expectations quite high which this part could not live upto. The work by Vidhya Balan is commendable. Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Varsi are good as well .. but these guys could certainly have done a much better job.
LRMMB is an amazingly hilarious movie. Some of the sequences are too funny. Everyone has acted pretty well. Director has tried to give ample gyaan on Mahatma Gandhi-ism. Sometime it feels little too much. But still not boring. Also diya mirza looks too good. In the end, if you want to laugh your stomach out - go watch it now.
Lage Raho munnsa bhai is a good break from your daily chores and routines. Laugh for the first half of the movie, no this doesnt mean that the second half is boring or depressing, but there are some forgotten values, which one might love to recall. Circuit (Arshad Warsi) as usual has done a fantastic job, his one liners in the movie are simply awesome, at times you will find yourself holding your stomach and laughing like crazy.
The leading lady in the film Vidya Balan has also done a good job, and above all she is looking gorgeous in the movie. Please dont think of comparing this movie with munna Bhai MBBS as you may not find it up to the mark....but view it as an individual creation.
As far as the songs goes they are good specially the romanti number pal pal ..har pal. the rest of the songs are good to hear but I would say that the picturization of the songs was better you would love to hear them once you have seen the songs on screen
Overall it is a god movie 1000 times better than Kabhi Alvida Na kehna !
