Cant beleive such kind of movies. Why they make such movies.

The Plot:
This story begins when time itself was Bachcha. Since then till today it's Drona's sole purpose of life to protect Amrit from Asuras (Daemons). Genuinely, it's courageous plot to blend Indian mythological story into fantasy. Pre-requisite to create any (realistic) fantasy is excellent hi-tech skills, fabulous and unbelievable screenplays but this is where Drona fails. It is nowhere near fantasy.

 Screenplays:
Fantasy for me is Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings. Unbelievably Believable. When you say Harry or Frado, you know them, their history, their habits, thinking and behavior. But in Drona, you just don't understand who Drona is? What is he like even after torturous 3 hours? Drona himself is confused and doubtful about his own existence. Why? Because director failed to create him and so is the case with remaining two characters, Bodyguard Sonia and so called magician Riz Raizada. I think director could not imagine his characters and that's the biggest flaw of the screenplays. He tried to impose some typical Maa-Beta emotions. First meeting between Maa-Beta is too dramatic as Maa breaks into lullaby which she seems to be singing from ages. Yawn Yawn !!! Expressionless Drona suddenly feels longing for mother when she is been converted into statue by Jadugar (Lovely statue though, I must admit). I can go on criticizing each scene as none of them helped good plot to excel. It just deteriorates with time. By the way, where was his bodyguard Drona when Drona was fighting alone with Asur. Such a visible mistakes makes screenplays drowsy.

 Casting:
Worst in recent times. Abhishek as Drona is as bad as wooden box. As per introduction, Drona is supposed to be powerful, intelligent and one of its kind as his powerful punch can shatter earth. But what you see is ill, tired, malnutrition mythological superhero. I wish Abhishek would have worked on six packs (which is in fashion. Thanks to Dard-de-disco SRK) All the time I was imagining Hritik as Drona. But director Goldie Behl was loyal to his langoti yaar (childhood friend) Abhishek. Mr. Behl, be professional. Abhishek is total misfit for the role. He looks bad, he talks bad, he delivers bad. Just Bad Bad Bad. Priyanka as bodyguard was unsuccessful to guard Abhishek. This babe is real stunt women. Way to go Piggy Chop! Kay Kay Menon is competent actor but not sure who is responsible for his loud over acting. There is nothing for Jaya Bachchan. Her statue is more expressive :-)

 Music:
Songs are misplaced. May I know why Drona's bodyguard and army are dancing in garage of Europe when their Drona is in danger. The anthem track 'Drona' fits in well with the theme of the movie. Koi khushi nahi chalkati when Drona sings 'Khushi' song  :-(

 Other:
The only scene which is worth mentioning is train break in desert. It's shot very well. To create a great fantasy the most important ingredient is out of the box thinking and high level of imagination which you witnessed nowhere. Special effects are as bad as poor TV serials (Shhh... koi hain). What's the matter with hooded army? Art director had lot of scope to design Razpur but why he chose pink for Razpur? Bad choice. Comics would have been better option for Drona as half of the story is in sketch form. Dialogues do not go with the plot. Each sentence of Priyanka starts with "Babuji kahte the"...At one point you feel let her babuji (ghost) talk why is she talking? Doesn't she have her own thinking? Specially designed costumes are another laid back.

Suv's verdict:
My sincere advice to Director is - please do not venture into Drona2 as indicated at the end. If you then please do not work with same cast and crew. Your courageous efforts of making Drona are just gone to drain.
If you have time and money then rent Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia rather than watching Drona. I suppose Jitendra's 'Hatimtai' was better :-)

if you have got no brain then its a right movie for you to watch

or its better to watch any of the saas bahu serials  no story no music no acting no direction is all the drona about

just sit in your room and meditate rather then watching this movie 

More than a script there should be some other acting charracters also for a success full movie. We can see in Kannada film field there are many good script if it is stollen from other language movies But in a similiar way there no one can act well. If some one who bother about acting, they can unerstand what is the standard of Kannada movies.

 There are more familiar faces in bollywood than the ability. I sincerely tell that Bachan family don't have the pure acting ability. They don't know what is acting, Amitab bachhan has scored more points from his audience who is not wise and haven't ever seen good acting and films. He is an awardee who gathered more awards than others, who is taking care about awards. Indian Awards are restricted by money, not by ability and skill.

People are mad with the popularity but not able to mark it up by the ability! The most ideal directors are not dare to make film with bachhans. i believe there is a good story in this film, but it was drowned in a sea by Heroes disability who can act in one side without flexibility. Those bachhans are not a real flexible actors. They can only act in a same method in all films.

Indian film industry is a monopoly of some people who don't really deserve it.

Taking too many stories from different movies & making a collage does not always work....

Sometime I thought I was watching Lord of the Rings or sometimes I thought I was watching  a shot from the movie 'Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger" & at odd times glimpses of batman. But the point here is that most movie scenes or characters are copied but according to me it should be well copied. 

I am not against the movie. It had an amazing story & great Visual effects that one has not yet seen in India movies.There were too many  elaborate emeotional scenes which were not required.

 The fight scenes were great. The Fusion of the tradition & modernism created a lot a confusion in the minds of the audience. It had to be blended well and therefore did not create the awe factor.

But can we have some one re-make this in his own way. 

I would love to see more laribrynth of puzzles & mysteries to be solved before drona reaches the destination. More Actions please.

i was planning on going for lunch at gulshan-e-iran for kababs and biryani since i had 300 rupees and it happens to be my fav resturant....but then i thought since i love warrior , action , superhero movies so much ill have a chicken roll and will also go for this movie...

so i sacrifised my spiced kababs and the sweet spicy sour chicken biryani for a chicken mayo roll and went straight to watch this movie...

TRUST ME, IT WAS ONE OF  THE WORST DECISIONS I HAVE MADE...!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS CRAP ?? i think this movie is ment for children under 12 not for mature audience...abhishek is trying really hard but i feel he should try his hand at direction rather than acting...its like i got the same feeling when i use to watch school plays, their acting  felt so dam pretentious and plastic ..... 

 anyways ...ill neva watch abisheks movie again...he is really bad..

Music Is Such A Crap, Goldie Must Be Sleeping When Dhruv Was Giving Nightmarish Music This Is The Worst Music Score Of 2008.

Acting Wise Abhishekh Is OK, Priyanka Chopra Is Doing Same Pattern Which She Left In Don, Jaya Bacchan Is Wasted, KK is Good In Parts But Totally Cannot Carry The Role He Is Hamming Most Of The Time.

Its bad,,ordinary story, lousy script, bad acting ,worst direction , a complete waste of time.

Having said that i would like to point out the same " anjam" faced by AB senior after doing the fantasy movie Ajjoba and Jdugar.ouch it hurts !! but it should, i am amazed at Ab's logic and sense of judgement, Why he had signed this movie , what he was thinking ,, does he really believe a golden costume with intricte threadwork will equte him with Krish....the movie reminds me of the Mummy and Rudraksh due to  its some sleek sequence.Some sequence are so random ,so bore and so out of place that u want to throw a chappal on screen.

Goldie Behl  last directed Abhishek Bachchan in the box-office flop Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai .In this movie  Abhishek Bachchan portrays the title superhero role with Priyanka Chopra as his bodyguard. Kay Kay Menon is Riz Raizada, the main villian. The movie is about an orphan Aditya who like Harmen Baweja of Love 2050 iis unloved. A blue petal makes him smile. One day, the blue petal leads him to a beautiful Kada which he starts wearing around his wrist. The Evil Riz Raizada  is a descendant of the Asuras (Demons) who wants to lay his hand on Amrit to achieve eternity. Drona is the safekeeper of that Amrit. ( reminds me of Da vinci code )

Soon Riz recognises AB as Drona. Aditya is saved by Drona’s bodyguard i e oomphy Priyanka .The fight now is between the good and the evil. 

So this is the boring review of a bogus movie . Kay Kay is the clown with such a weird caricature,, its crime to waste such a talent. AB looks Paunchy and his Toond is visible .Priyanka is OK. Jaya bachan is the new nirupa roy,, all tears no acting.The music is passable , The SFx are good but dont go to see just that. ABs hair cut is another lousy thing.

Avoid this movie like a money seeking creditor,, dont even see this in cable

If Kidnap was bad, Drona is worst. A thin story line, bad acting, clumsy comical costumes and poor direction reduce the movie to pulp.Fantasy movies like Jaani Dushman, Rudraaksh and this year's Love Story were bad but funny enough to take potshots but this one is sad; makes you tear your hair in frustation. When a director tries to make an overabitious superhero movie in bollywood, the result usually is.....mega crap!!! goldie behl has thought too much to make a superman type movie, trying to connect mythology and current times,but..it just makes u laugh, and not because its a comedy mind u!!. Abhishek bacchan's character in the first half of the movie reminded me of CINDERELLA!!! Priyanka chopra was the hero,pobin hood kind,saving the poor little princess from the evil guys!!! and just imagine,i mean sizes, priyanka chopra as aby baby's bodygaurd...the concept is just too ridiculous!!!

Drona discovers his true essence 30 min before movie ends, i mean the movie should be named,the making of drona,for cying out loud!!!!

abhishek looks uncomfortable on a horse being all superhero type,and his serious-deep look is so constipated!!!

priyanka chopra wears huge silk brocade robes in the middle of the desert with the sun glaring at her,and the next second strips to bare nothings for a iem song in a dungeon.

she is confused between love and duty,and he is just confused!!!

The forthcoming release in question is Goldie Behl`s Drona, a heavyweight production that stars Abhishek Bachchan and is being produced by Rose Movies and Eros. Featuring 1200 vfx shots, very close to the highest Bollywood has yet attempted, and filmed in Prague, Namibia, Mumbai and Rajasthan, it`s the sort of production that promises to firmly establish India on the global scene and was therefore one that required the best image quality available.

David Bush was Visual Effects Producer/Supervisor on the movie. "We had seen some recent Indian blockbusters go the 2K route in 1:2.35 Cinemascope format, and we weren`t happy with the overall soft image that ensues at that resolution," he says. "In fact, centre extraction of a 2K scanned image is really down to the equivalent of less than a thousand lines of resolution, and I personally think that this is inadequate for wide format films on the big screen."

Together with Behl and DoP Sameer Arya, the decision was made to post in 4K at FutureWorks, one of Mumbai`s top film post production houses. FutureWorks installed a Quantel Pablo 4K next generation nonlinear grading and film finishing suite integrated with a Genetic Engineering shared workflow infrastructure, together with a Max assist station. As a result, FutureWorks is now in the vanguard of the new wave of high-end digital post production sweeping across India.

Bush was impressed with the Pablo system and FutureWorks` facilities, certainly more so than some rival bidders` ?4K` proposals. "M any were underestimating the sheer speed and volume needs for an effective 4K pipeline," he says. "They based their proposals on unproven and theoretical workflows using proxies, down rezzing, still to be tried-and-tested storage area networks, and moving material around from editing to color grading systems backwards and forwards more or less continuously."

The FutureWorks 4 K workflow is much cleaner, genuinely 4 K throughout, and features a Sp i r i t 4K datacine and the Pablo 4K, sitting on the Genetic Engineering backbone, with a 4 K ARRILASER film recorder as the final stage in the process.

Bush has overseen over 50 DI productions and is adamant that DI is about more than the grading, especially at 4K. "Deliverables have become one of the most important aspects, and these are better catered for on the Quantel platform than by others," he says. Drona is pushing the benchmark ever higher in the fast growing Indian film industry, and I`m proud to be part of the team actively pushing the quality envelope."

The Music by ASHU AND DHRUV….. Abhishek jammed with Bauchklang, an Austrian band. It is learnt that the band is popular in Europe and they often perform at local gigs. Bauchklang was in Mumbai in February performing at a lounge bar.

A source says, “Bauchklang has worked with Ashu-Dhruv, the music directors for the film on a song and also the background music. The reason why Ashu-Dhruv and Bauchklang have collaborated is that they both have very similar styles of working.

Dhruv was quite impressed with their vocals. They don’t use any instruments. They band is all about harmonising their vocals. Abhishek was very impressed when he met the band.”

If things had gone as gone as per the original schedule, box-office delight Akshay Kumar’s ‘Singh Is Kinng’ would have released with Aby’s Baby, Abhishek Bachchan’s much-awaited SFX extravaganza, ‘Drona’. Thankfully, the makers of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ decided to prepone it by a week and avoided the unnecessary clash. It was then assumed that Goldie Behl’s, ‘Drona’ would be the solo release of August 15.

However, it now seems that the best newcomer of the year Ranbir Kapoor’s Yash Raj venture, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ with Deepika, Bipasha and Minissha is all set to release on the 15th August, along with hot 'n' happening Abhishek Bachchan (with Priyanka Chopra) starrer ‘Drona’.
The Siddharth Anand (‘Salaam Namastey’ and ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’) directed ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ is likely to be Ranbir’s next release after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Sawaariya’.

Before we leave, the formality. Release dates can change even at the eleventh hour!

Is  Priyanka Chopra will be seen in yet another spunky role in Goldie Behl’s movie Drona  . Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a female bodyguard to Abhishek Bachchan's Drona.

She trained under an expert for Gatka, which is a specialized form of fighting from the Punjab belt of North India. A trainer from Ludhiana had reportedly been roped in to give training to Priyanka. The training included both defensive and attacking moves…

Just can’t wait to see this movie..even a trailor would do……
