DASHAVATAR (2009)

We had opportunity to see this film on DVD as this title/Film up-till now has not been imported by the Pakistan Film exhibitors association. The opening credits are captured well on celluloid and show somewhat a primordial era with wide-ranging details to set decoration. The Film has manifestly forwards with contemporaneous / multiple lines and we guess it must not easy for the production team to sum-up the series of events that unfold. Senior Artist Mr Kamal Hasan resurfaced after a fairly long time and wrote the film script. WE believe Mr Hasan must have taken great pains to conceive compound plots and reconciling in a methodical manner. The visual effects of the first half are worth watching. It would be not out of place to say that DASHAVAR is basically an action film. We are pretty sure this film would look more notable in its original native language as there seems Hindi version is not precisely done and there are some perceptible fluctuations, but this should not be an issue. We may be wrong in construal, as we do not well conversant with TELGU language, but generally it is considered by the movie experts that original language would uphold the screenplay better and the way the director intended. You guys can well see the difference of a Hollywood movie dubbed in Hindi or Urdu, the film can never give that impact which original sound trek can. However, sound dubbing should not be confused with REMAKING the Film which should be a different subject in its entirety.. This film is likely to stun many people who might be expecting something melodramatics from MR KAMAL Hassan and his team. On the contrary the movie has some very tense moments and there is sudden transformation of the sub-plots which may bewilder segment of the viewers. The music of the film is quite adequate for the themes involved, but lyrics may not be for everyone. Back ground score is good and holds well to the sequences of the Film. The team of this movie should be complemented as they have altogether applied a diverse story line which is a bit unusual for a Bollywood flick. On the whole the Film is good and some senior cast is well supported by new or recent entrants. We wish to see this film again on silver screen/cinema particularly due to ostentatious set design of the first half and striking last 30 minutes finale. On a scale of one to Ten we would merit this Film 7.8/10.
