With Blue already making waves at the box-ffice, Anthony D'Souza's has just got one more reason to smile. A sequel to the film is in the offing and is being planned on a much bigger scale. Blue actor Sanjay Dutt told a tabloid that they will be starting with the sequel immediately. "It was a thrilling experience shooting for Blue in the Bahamas. Tony (director) is ready with the idea for Blue 2 and he has promised that there will be more sharks and action in the sequel," says Sanjay. The actor went on to tell of the trials and tribulations over the shooting of the original. "For me, Blue was an extremely difficult film to shoot. The same goes for the director Anthony D'Souza. Hats off to the producer who believed in the film and invested so much money in it. I don't know about others but I had a tough time while shooting as I was scared when I saw 50 sharks around me." We hear that the sequel will be shot in Australia and will have one more key male actor other than Akshay Kumar, Sanjay and Zayed Khan. While Blue has several sharks, its sequel will have deadlier sharks such as Great Whites and Bull Sharks. |

The Krakow School of Art and Fashion Design (KSA) was born in 1989 in Poland. The School offers two years long full time program as well as weekend courses giving a platform to the students in the field of Fashion Design, Photography, Interior Design, Visual Merchandising and Drama. The news is that the Fashion and Photography faculty will open its doors to international students also very soon this year. The curriculum and programs are designed by experienced professionals after a well thought process. One interesting fact about this institute is that the staff members are themselves artists and designers in their own rights and have combined teaching with their professional careers. In order to showcase students’ talents, the school organizes fashion shows as well as exhibitions in galleries on a regular basis. The institute also opens the door for students to participate in both national and international competitions. Besides that students get the opportunity to intern with the top designers across the world. Giving sustainable employment prospects to the fashion graduates is a priority for the institute. No wonder then, talents produced every year are placed in Polish and international fashion companies. Bharat Sharma is a Delhi-based model who started his career with Gladrags. A model who takes his career with completes dedication, he is a hardcore fan of Ghazal and it reflects in his caller tune as well. He strongly feels that modelling requires no talent beyond good looks and a fit body. Here’s a quick face off with the young lad; Your first crush on fashion. My starting days in modelling were not so good, though I did my first ramp show in Ireland for British Telecom. I was working with Infosys when I got a call for Lakme Fashion Week. until then, I was totally unaware about what modelling and fashion is all about? I thought it was very much organized and professional. How has life changed after modelling? The major change is I have started listening to others in the bitter way! Your best part experience so far. This was the first ad which I shot for ICICI Prudential where it took 15 hrs for a 30 sec ad! I can never forget this lifetime experience. Are male models more vulnerable to casting couch. If you go 4-5 years back, it was true but now it’s different. Qualities which make you different from other model community. I am friendlier in a true way and can’t be fake as most of my fellow models are. I always prefer my education and knowledge over my looks. Walking in first ever Men’s Week was really great feeling. Now Indian designers have finally got the time to think of the Male model. The positive and negative traits of being a model. If you say Negative then it’s a long list but to be precise, it’s a short term career or say it’s not a career for men, it’s a very dicey profession and my advice is to first finish your studies get some professional degree to be on the safer side and then try for it. Positive trait is you get in contact with so many people which sometimes actually changes life and most importantly People start recognizing you. Nudity in ads is a sensational issue nowadays? Would u ever do such ads. Yes if you have to live in Rome you have to live like a Romeo. Is the supermodel era over. Gone are the days when Supermodel was a term. Now-a-days, it’s so tough to make a stand in the industry due to cut throat competition there is less work and more candidates so everyone is a model now but the supermodel is in the graveyard. Designers you die for? Raghavendra Rathore and JJ Valaya. How are show directors to deal with? It takes time to create a rapport with the choreographers and if you are good in buttering half your job is done. All choreographers have their favourites so here the job changes from getting work to getting into the choreographer’s favo’s list. Till now Aparna Behl and Alison Kanuga are those whom I admire. Style icon Shashi Taroor, the way he speaks and think its a personality to die for. Health regime Eat healthy be healthy. I believe in one thing what you eat is what you look. A proper work out and cardio is like worshipping your body. The one thing you most scared of Losing my memory. How is Karan (Johar) as a designer. I did his fittings yesterday for the finale show at ICW and as a designer he is really amazing. He is blessed with a very good styling sense. He is doing the show for which bridal, casuals as well as party wear lines with really flashy shoes kept in store. Know Me More Favo color -Red Favo food: Spanish cream pasta with olive. A movie can be the most expensive movie made ever, the crew can have two Oscars winner - AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty, pop-star Kylie Minogue may bare all her sexy assets but yet the movie is a disaster. Everything could be out of blue in the movie Blue yet recovering from this Blue is not easy. We won’t recommend you to watch it. The story is about a treasure hunt – a super diver Sagar (Sanjay Dutt) who knows the ocean in and out. He is supposed to be the only person who knows where a ship containing a lot of treasure sank, while cruising on its way to India. He lives somewhere near the Bahamas coast and works with a rich businessman Aarav Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) who wants to know about the treasure. Sagar always denies narrating the story of the treasure. Mona (Lara Dutta) is Sagar’s arm candy and Sam (Zayed Khan) is Sagar’s naughty brother who is mad about bikes and road races. They are the only two people Sagar cares about! The suspense begins where Sagar had to go for the treasure hunt and rest remains for you to figure out… Music in Blue is something great as ever, needless to say that the credit goes to AR Rahman who never fails to get us something new. Kylie Minogue’s Chiggy Wiggy track is already a big hit. The title track was really enjoyable, rest of the tracks create the most romantic harmony despite a violent story line. The underwater set was sophisticated considering Pete Zucarini directed it – he is the underwater director of photography from Pirates of the Caribbean. Lara looked hot in her new avatar, Sanjay’s acting was commendable. Akshay and Zayed were average. Though we don’t highly recommend you to watch the movie, it can be a one-time watch.

Touted as the most costly venture of Hindi Film Industry, “Blue” releases on this Diwali weekend to make the most of the Festival season. With tremendous hype in the air, fresh visuals on the screen and never before underwater action for the viewers, the movie had all the ingredients of becoming a blockbuster before its release. But now after going through the watery experience of 2 hours in the theater, I can only think about the huge amount of money spent on such a weak and baseless project.
It really doesn’t feel nice to write negative reviews about a project on which a lot is on the stake in monetary terms. But what can be done, if the movie itself doesn’t provide you anything positive or worth praising to rave about. Though, it starts off quite well with a brilliantly shot sequence where Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt drive out a Shark from their underwater net. But after that, the movie goes on sliding on a never ending downwards slope sinking towards an unknown destination.
Revolving around a conspiracy to reach a hidden underwater treasure, “Blue” has a completely uninteresting first half, with nothing appealing for the viewer related to its main theme. In fact if you simply skip it off and start watching the movie after its intermission, then you miss nothing but only a few chase sequences and two hot babes. Apart from this, the main plot of the movie actually unfolds after the interval, when the three men are set to go for the treasure hunt. So, it all comes down to the last 30 minutes of the flick, where you desperately start waiting for something very exciting to happen related to the hidden wealth and bloody sharks.
But unfortunately or rather very irresponsibly nothing happens even in the concluding moments of the movie and its climax simply leaves you confused and annoyed. There is no excitement felt as the treasure is found, there are no bloody games played with the sharks as shouted in the promotional campaign and there is not a single thrilling moment in this so called never before underwater thriller.
Yes, there are breathtaking undersea shots worth watching and there are well conceived high quality actions sequences too, but…… Where is the content to win over the viewers? Where is the famous charming spell of Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt? Where are the Sharks, heavily promoted in the T.V. campaigns? Where is excitement which should be there in treasure hunt movie?
Besides this, the Kylie Minogue song is clearly added deliberately and all the chase sequences featuring Zayeed Khan before and after the intermission are only there to add more glamour and gloss to the project. In addition to this, the two ladies are only there in the movie as there can never be a Hindi Film without any hot heroines to set the screen on fire.
Talking about its performances, there is neither the actual Sanjay Dutt in the movie nor the real Akshay Kumar. In other words you can only find some glimpses of their famous charisma on the screen in few particular scenes here & there. And the most annoying dialogues are where Akshay addresses Sanjay Dutt as “Seth Ji”. I really couldn’t find anything interesting or entertaining in this unique way of calling him “Seth Ji”. May be the writers found it fresh & new, but this was earlier used by Mallika Sherawat in one of her movies too. On the other hand, Zayed Khan, surprisingly shines in his side role and Lara Dutta simply sizzles in her revealing outfits. Lara is undoubtedly looking more glamorous and different than any of her earlier releases. Both Katrina Kaif (in special appearance) and Rahul Dev have done justice to their short and usual roles.
Musically, A. R. Rahman comes out with a few melodious numbers in the soundtrack, out of which “Chiggy Wiggy” has been already made famous by an extensive promotional strategy. Otherwise I think with Kylie Minogue being there for him, Rahman could have belted out something more exciting & sensational for her. Moreover, it was sad to see the best song of the movie, “Fiqrana” being played as a music video along with the end credits.
In short the best part of the movie is its Cinematography and that’s it. The film simply fails to impress in any other department completely and only one man gets all the blame and he is the debutant director Anthony D’Souza. With such enormous amount of resources available at his disposal he should have given more stress on the story, script and content of the movie to ensure its box office success. But ignoring these essential elements of cinema, he focuses more on the look and feel of the project, which has never been the Box-Office success mantra ever. He surely has got the talent to deliver and may come up with a winner next time, but with “Blue” he can only expect the least.
Rating : 1.5 / 5 (The extra half star only for its underwater well shot scenes) (By Bobby Sing from www.bobbytalkscinema.com) |

After watching the trailers one would think Blue would be mindblowingly awesome. Unfortunately, except for the underwater shooting and catchy songs, Blue has nothing to offer.
The movie opens well, starting with a shark fight, that would make your heart jump into your mouth. Aarav (Akshay kumar) and Sagar (Sanjay Dutt) are friends, who live in the Bahamas. Mona (Lara Dutta) is Sagar's girl, while Samir aka Sam (Zayed Khan) is his younger brother.
Aarav is after a treasure that had sunk in the sea ages ago. He believes that Sagar can help in the quest, but the latter refuses to discuss it. Why? That makes up a large chunk of the film. And do they finally go on the treasure hunt? Obviously yes. What happens there? Does the treasure actually exist? Who gets it? You'll have to watch the movie for that!
As I mentioned before, the movie's saving grace are the gorgeous underwater sequences. A lot of money has been spent on them, and must say it was worth every penny. If only the script had been stronger and the screenplay more engrossing the movie would have been a blockbuster. Just visual excellence will not rake in the moolah Mr Dhillan Mehta (Producer).
The stunts are done exceedingly well, though there was one that is a direct rip off from Torque. If you've seen it you'll figure one which one I'm referring to.
Akshay Kumar is at his wicked best, wearing shoes that match with his shirt: red shoes with a red and white shirt, pink shoes with a pink shirt...He looks fit and well toned, especially when compared to Sanjay Dutt, who really needs to lose that paunch. Both have given great performances and look comfortable in their skin.
It appeared as if Zayed was in the film by accident. He looked like a lost puppy, hunting for his mom, without whom he didn't know where to go or what to do. After getting his act together in some of his previous films like Dus and Cash he went back to his Main Hoon Na days all over again. Disappointing.
Lara Dutta's role surprised me. She looked wow, true. But that's all she did. And danced around. And of course got kidnapped.
The songs are splendid. Full marks to the choreographers Farah Khan, Ahmed Khan and Ashley Lobo. It's difficult to say which song is the best visually. The stunning underwater antics in the movie's title track or Kylie Mingoue gyrating in a hip disco theque.
The audio is superb as well. Take a bow Mr Rehman. The background score by Bohemia is worth mentioning too. Wonder why it's not available commercially as a part of the film's soundtrack.
Not to forget Katrina Kaif. Just a guest appearance from her. But she looked as radiant as ever. And walked away with the maximum cheering and whistling too. |

Read full review at my blog : CLICK HERE. So after Terabytes of reviews and thoughts about A R Rahman's first post-Oscar soundtrack... [oops, did I forget to put TM in Oscar?? :P] I finally declare that I am liking the soundtrack of BLUE gradually. Yes it sounds little odd cause most of the reviews / thoughts I've read, are boasting about the music. But I was dizzy when the promos started to pour in. Music did not sound quite 'Rahman'ish. But after getting the soundtrack on my Ipod, I am liking it with each listening.
Chiggy Wiggy : The song I was desperately waiting for. I love Kylie Minogue hopelessly :P So definitely this would be drooling experience to see her in a Hindi movie. First portion of track is obviously superb with silly silly words and singing of Kylie. But when I heard the Sonu part for the first time, I was annoyed ! Maybe cause he disturbed me and distracted me from Kylie. And the typical words, Heeriye, Jaaniye, Soniye were let down. But after some more listening I actually loving the portion much more than Kylie's portion. The way Sonu starts his 'antara' is so so much fun. And the line 'chiggy wiggy chiggy wiggy chig chig' got me stuck!!
Aaj Dil : What it reminds me of are two things : Daud and Baywatch ! Baywatch just for the piano pieces mixed in compositions. And the singing is so much like 'O bhaware' from Daud in First part of the song, which picks up immediately and whoa!! Shreya sprinkles her magical new voice. She overshadows Sukhvinder completely. Shreya here reminds me of Jism, when she stunned everyone who loved sweet singer of Devdas. In a same fashion of Jism, this song too ends up with giggles of Shreya. Love it!! Perfect for a beach outing.
Fiqrana: Rahman !! It has Rahman written all over it. Its a Yuva part 2 song. But a step ahead of it, just listen it LOUDER. Close your eyes and you can feel yourself standing at a cliff !! Or as @thebollywoodfan once tweeted, a perfect song to play in your car on a long ride at 2am !! The best part of the song is the techno portion - Hoon Junoon Sukooon Main Shararaaaa.... WOW!!! But still I want more from it. I wanted this song to be sung by A R Rahman himself. [and I think he will open up his next 'Jai Ho' concert with this song, Damn sure!!] [and thank God, Farhan Akhtar denied offer to sing this song] Also loved lyrics of the song, its here. |

CLICK HERE to read full review Aaj Dil (5:29) - Vocals by Shreya Ghoshal, Sukhvinder Singh The opening track of Blue is truly unique. AR Rahman's composition is completely unpredictable and that is its biggest USP. I think it's a spectacular track with interesting music arrangements and refreshing vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Sukhvinder Singh. Ghoshal is outdoing herself with every new song!
Bhoola Tujhe (5:27) - Vocals by Rashid Ali Bhoola Tujhe is simple, yet so grand. Abbas Tyrewala's lyrics are wonderful and Rahman, as usual, infuses his composition with deep emotions. Rashid Ali does full justice to this soulful track. Review contd. CLICK HERE to read full review |

BLUE, the Bollywood film is inspired from the 70s movie- the Deep. It is among the most expensive films ever made in Bollywood and costs a whooping 130 crores. The film is all about ship wrecks and treasures lost somewhere in the deep blue waters. The hunt for the huge treasure and human behaviour is what the film aims at bringing out. The word blue brings to mind water. Even a little kid would associate blue with the lovely waters. The title for Anthony D’souza’s film Blue is thus, is apt considering the theme that it is based on. The Blue starcast –great star value in Blue The film has a huge star cast and going by the actors involved with the film it has great star value. Actors – Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta. Music – A R Rahman Director – Anthony D’souza Producer – Ashtavinayak Productions The hot and sexy Katrina Kaif ruling Bollywood currently is part of this ambitious project. A good part of the shooting is done. The film has used a high degree of technical expertise for the shooting and bringing about the right effects. Ready to hit the theatres on the 16th of October 2009, Blue has already managed to create a lot of interest. With so much being said and written about it, the fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this movie which seems to be one of its kind in terms of the effects that it claims to be bringing up. The film can boast of music from the Oscar winner A R Rahman. Rahman’s music has always been the hummable and pleasant to the ears and with an Oscar award to his name we can expect some great musical moments here. Blue movie story – revealing the watery plot The story of this expensive film revolves around a lost treasure. The three friends trying to find this huge treasure and the ups and downs, the problems and obstacles that they have to face during the journey to the treasure is what the film revolves around. Money can solve a lot of problems, but on the other hand it can also create unwanted problems with people going to any extent to acquire the wealth. The trigger for deceit and betrayal money can bring about emotions of deceit and betrayal even among the best of friends. Sanjay Dutt (Lara Dutta plays Sanju baba’s wife in the film) and Akshay Kumar are based in the Bahamas and play fishermen in the film, on the other hand, Zayed Khan is the rich influential flamboyant investor. Katrina Kaif plays a character with many grey shades. Atlast a challenging role for Katrina from the usual looking beautiful and doll on display in the showcase roles. With most part of the film being shot underwater the actors have been given special training and taken lessons in scuba diving for playing their parts to perfection. Kylie Minogue sings for Blue Kylie Minogue is another attraction that Blue holds. She was in the magical city of Mumbai for the recordings and the shooting. She was here for a short while and Akshay Kumar did play the perfect host while she was around. Sources report that Kylie has been paid a huge sum of Rs. 5 Crore for the film. Kylie sure did like her visit to Bollywood and although she kept far away from the fans and media, she did enjoy every bit of her stay here. Only time will tell as to what magic Blue is able to weave. Will it create the expected impact…..or…. |

'Blue'A treasure lays buried deep at the bottom of an ocean. There are many people who want to get there by risking life, be it theirs or someone else’s.
‘Blue’ is touted as Bollywood’s first underwater, action adventure thriller. Directed by Anthony D'Souza , the movie is inspired from Hollywood flicks like ‘The Deep’ or ‘Jaws’, but it is not a copy.
The film is about a lost treasure, which three friends try to find undersea. Akshay Kumar , Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan play the respective roles.
But in this hunt for the treasure, there’s deceit and betrayal by someone in the group.
Lara Dutta is paired with Sanjay Dutt in the film. The actress did not know deep sea diving before signing the film and underwent a rigorous Scuba diving training to prepare for her role.
The movie’s second heroine Katrina Kaif doesn’t have a big role. But director D’Souza says Kat will surprise the audiences with her role. Sunil Shetty also has a brief role in the film. Most of ‘Blue’ has been shot
in the Bahamas. Akshay, Sanjay and Zayed swam with real sharks while shooting their stunts in the film.
While shooting one such stunt under water, Akshay Kumar had a narrow escape when he accidentally hit his head against the metal of a sunken ship and began bleeding. Blood attracted the sharks, but before any mishap could happen, the actor was safely pulled above water. To tone up his muscles, Sanjay Dutt hired the services of a special body building trainer from the US – Lawrence Gonsalves, who guided the actor on losing his former beefy body and developing a leaner physique.
Special water-resistant make-up was required for the film’s leading lady Lara Dutta. For that the producers roped in Hollywood make up artist Nikoletta Skarlatos.
‘Blue’ also feature a special appearance by Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue who has not only sung for the film but also shot a sizzling video with Akshay Kumar.
Oscar winner A R Rahman has composed the tunes of the film’s songs. In fact, Kylie Minogue agreed to sing and dance to her song in the film because she was captivated by Rahman’s composition.
The movie apparently also has an underwater song picturized on the entire cast.
With a budget of over Rs 100 crores, ‘Blue’ is touted as Bollywood’s most expensive film to date. Made under the banner of Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision, the movie is set to release in diwali, 2009. |
