Overall Rating

There were four releases in two days i.e. on 23rd and 24th Ocotber on the eve of Deevali. Budget wise, Hero stands out the first and then followed by Keka, Blade Babji and kasipatnam Choodara Babu. The first two ones are the disasters and the producers may not dare to venture into movie production in the near future, and the last one has no expectations though it is also equally a disaster.

Blade Babji, among all the four, has turned out to be a clean winner in all senses and emerging one of the biggest hits of Allari Naresh. A commendable job by the Director particularly in directing (rather controlling) Allari Naresh to give more matured and controlled performance than his usual stuff. Though the Director should be blamed for the poor technical side of the movie (may be due to Producer's kanjoosee or greedyness as he earlier proved his technical finesse with LEELA MAHAL CENTRE), he has shown his talent, ability and execution capability in every bit of the film from the word go.

STORY:

This is the story of 4 petty thieves (Allari Naresh, Ruthika, Harshavardhan and Khayyum) who ventured into Big Bank Robbery to save their slum people from the clutches of landlord. The landlord wants to encash the real estate boom and sell the land for Rs.4.00 crores. Not to render their slummates as homeless people, Blade Babji dares to buy the land for Rs.4.00 crores and seeks 3 months time for making payment thoguht they don't have money.

To earn the money, the gang along with cutting balu (Venumadhav) made a big plan to rob a bank which they could succeed. However, to escape from the police, the gang hide the money in a building under construction. While they partying the success of the robbery, they were shunted to Andaman for month for unauthorisedly entering the ship bounded for Andaman.

After one month when they returned from Andaman, they got shocked when they come to know that the under construction building became a Police Commissioner's office. To unearth the money, Blade Babji enters the Commissionarate as Inspector Krishna Mahonar (spoof of Pokiri) and finds the hiding place. But when they dig the floor, what they could get was an empty bag without money. This is the interval bang.

Post interval, all scenes revolve around finding the money and all the characters trying to lay their hands on four crores money. Whether Babji and gang could lay their hands on the money and hand it over to the landlord before the 3 months' period and whether the slum people are saved from the clutches of the landlord is to be seen on screen.

Analysis

The movie from the beginning to the end is a roller coster ride of hilarious situations and dialogues. This is the movie where Allari Naresh gives a matured performance and improves his image as replacement to Rajendra Prasad. All other comedians in the film did their justice to their roles and the Director extracted maximum output from all of them as all the characters have prominent roles. The only weaklink in the entire crew is the heroine , though she is not a liability to the film (Sayali Bhagat - former Miss India) as neither she could act nor show grace in her presence. The only favorable factor is her heght as this is the first time Naresh has got his heroine to suit his height.  Ruthika is more appealing than Sayali Bhagat in the movie be it in action or screen presence.

In the movie, the names of the characters are so appealing that other producers could encash their comedy movie titles by naming them. Eg. Bakara Butchi Babu (Brahmanandam), Cutting Balu (Venu Madhav), Banda Bhadri (Jayaprakash Reddy), Bevars Babu (the yes boss person with Jayaprakash Reddy).

Technical Department:

Demerits:

Producer (M. Satyakumar): He should have spent some more money on the movie as the movie shows low budgetness every where except in songs

Photograrphy (A. Raja): Below average and a lot to be improved by him if they want to do the films

Music (Koti): Songs are let down (fortunately there are only 4 songs agaisnt usual 5 to 6 songs).

Heroine (Sayali Bhagat): With due respect to her Miss India crown. Miles to go to estabish herself as heroine

Merits:

Editing (Nandamuri Hari): Good and fast paced

Rerecording (Koti):Good with some really innovative back ground score like the rap music whenever Babji attempts theft and climax score of Tagore's song - Nenu Saitham...)

Dialogues (Vegesna Satish): Excellant. Wish him good luck as he is coming out with Dongala Bandi with Allari Naresh as Hero. Hope that his pen will do wonders in his upcoming movie.

Story (Devi Prasad):Though the story takes it basic line from Blue Streak (English Movie - which was later copied in the form of Chor Machaye Shor (Hindi) and directed by David Dhavan with Bobby Deol, Bipasa Basu and Shilpa Shetty in the lead roles), the adoption to suit the nativity should be appreciated as nowhere it resembles Chor Machaye Shor or Blue Streak. A perfect story to suit the image of Allari Naresh. The Story Writer's creativity also scores well when we compare with Chor Machaye Shor, which was a total washout at Box Office though directed by David Dhawan).

Direction (Devi Prasad): Truly, he is the winner among all the lot connected with the movie. Generally, Screen Play gets appreciation in more serious and emotional movies. It is very rare that Screen Play in a comedy movie is appreciated (Jandhyala, Vamsee and EVV did it in the past). Devi Prasad did that wonderful job in a comedy movie with a tight screen play which is the backbone of the movie. Of course, the narration and execution of the movie are also equally superb. His direction stands out the best and he was able to get very good performances from all the artistes (including wooden faced heroine). There are no unnecessary scenes in the movie and even if a single scene is taken out, link with the movie would have been lost.

His zeal and determination could be seen from execution of every scene in the film. Definetely, he has shown his mark in every frame of the movie as the movie certainly differs from other Allari Naresh movies. Only drawback is technical finesse which may be due to the limitetd budget of the movie. Producer should have confidence in his tem and should have spent some more money. (Anyhow he got jackpot with the movie).

The director is also to be appreciated for avoiding vulgority and double meaning dialogues though the movie has mass orientation.

Verdict: A hit movie and may become the biggest hit in Allari Naresh's career.

Tailpiece: Devi Prasad, the Director, before delivering a dud with PAANDU (Jagapathi Babu Starrer), delivered the only hit in Aryan Rajesh's career till date (EVV's eldest son) in the form of Leela Mahal Centre. (The Director's first movie - Aaduthu Paduthu, a Srikant and Suneel starrer was a success). Now he has given the biggest hit in Allari Naresh's career (second son of EVV). I wonder whether they got any relationship with the Director? Whatever may be the reason, EVV should be happy with the Director who is helping his two sons in their film careers.
