Ram Gopal Verma has now mellowed down in not only in terms of realizing that the Karan Johar?s so called mushy, formula based cinema works, but also somewhere, unknowingly uses some of the age old techniques in his latest Agyaat, but alas, it also doesn?t works for him. The innovative Ramu who gave us an absolute edge of the seat thrillers like Kaun, Bhoot and Raat has taken the route of depicting six pack abs ?hero?, (infact, one of the character from the film, ironically, mouths the dialogue also about the six pack abs hero formula), two useless item songs and unnecessary skin show on pretext of ?heroine?s? work out near the pond or even while getting rid of the leeches from her body and the old experiment of hero saving the heroine in the end. But alas, doesn?t work. And if the series of killings were supposed to be done by the ?Agyaat?, then why 2 of your 9 characters commit suicide and 1 is murdered? Why did you hesitate to show their gruesome dead bodies? Agyaat truly gave you platform to show some very cruel death sequences and some ghoulish act and corpses. You could have shown all what you have in mind, massacred dead bodies, severed limbs, broken skulls but you missed that. What works for the film are the sound effects and some good cinematography. But is that all to make his film work? The answer is No. No Mr. Ramu, the audience spending 200 bucks wanted to know more about your ?Agyaat? but the poor audience leaves the theatre grinning their teeth, somewhat feeling cheated and probably cursing themselves, (literally, I heard that), for believing you again after the debacles like RGV Ke Sholay, Darling etc, etc, falling trap to their curiosity arising from your aggressive ?dead body hanging from the hoarding advertising gimmick?, and curious to know about your Agyaat. Will they return to Agyaat 2? May be Yes, may be No. Yes, if in case Recession times are over and their spending power increases. No, because, they are losing hope in you and your RGV brand cinema. But one thing is for sure. They will never return this time because of their curiosity to find out who in the name of God was or is your ?Agyaat?. RGV, we love you and your experimenting techniques and to be very honest, I personally find you and Vishal Bhardwaj as one of the most innovative directors of Indian Cinema. So please, give us thrillers like Raat, Bhoot and Kaun. You are a true master in that. You have changed the concept of horror for Bollywood, breaking the age old shackles of Ramsays and their permanent ghost Anirudh Agarwal. I will definitely go for Agyaat 2, Agyaat 3 or should I call Agyaat series provided you promise me a Raat, Bhoot or even a Kaun.
