Hi guys my name is nisha iam a new member on this site i would like to start a discussion on the most underrated actor.According to me  sanjeev kumar was underrated,he never got his due, inspite of giving good performances in film angur aandhi mausam and sholay where sanjeev was at his best  well this is my take what do u guys have to say?

totally agree.. I would like add Balraj Sahni, Govinda, Mithun (3 national best actor awards), Kay kay Menon and Irrfan to that list...

i do agree with u on ur choices also yes balraj sahni irfan khan kay kay menon are underrated actors

I would add some more to the list

1) Naseeruddin Shah

2) Farooq Sheikh

3) Sushant Singh

4) Utpal Dutt 

5) Amol Plekar 

i guess they are many actors who deserve to be in this list akshaye khanna and urmila

akshaye khanna....he lost all his hairs ;-)))))) anyways I liked him only in Dil Chahta hai....just observe him in 36 China Town, he is pathetic in it

aa ab laut chalein??? no I didnt like that movie ...it had nothing new same old stuff and Akshaye Khanna kept crying and cribbing in the movie for no reason

well shantanu but still the point is akshaye khanna has never got noticed for his performances and wot about his performances in films humraaz and deewangi

it was released in 2003 i guess iam not sure it was a flop though it has ajay urmila and ofcourse akshaye in it

I think Urmila os over rated and not under rated ;-))

and even ajay devgan whom i believe is most underrated actor in bollywood he was superb in legend of bhagat singh and omkara

but the point of this link is listing "underrated "actors.. actors like naseer are internationally acclaimed.. I thought we were talking about actors who havent gotten their due..

yes deepak we are discussing on the most underrated actors only

ajay devgan and yesteryear actress mumtaaz too is most underrated raveena tandoon anil kapoor govinda and manoj bajpai

but I dont think we should consider Ajay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna in underrated actors category coz they are already considered good actors.. But I do have to agree with you on Akshaye Khanna.. I think he s terrific actor atleast in some of the recent movies I have seen.. I didnt like him in taal and i havent seen aa ab laut chalen but he was very good in DCH and his comic timing was excellent in a movie with ayesha takia and mallika last year .. cant remember the name.. he was the only good thing in salaam e ishq

Deepak I agree for Dil Chahta hai.....but in one movie even Priyanshy Chatterjee was good

the film was shaadi se pehle with mallika sherawat and ayesha takia 

shantanu yes u have come up with nice actor priyanshu chatterji he too is underrated but he's not getting films

but shaadi se pehle and salaam e isq he was damn good shantanu.. which movie was Priyanshu good in?? ;-)

I dont really remember the name was it Sir Tum....the one which had Himanshu Malik and Sandali Sinha in it.....(Jagjit Singh Song " Koi Fariyad tere dil se")

yeah Tum Bin was a good movie with nice songs.. there was nothing great or earth shattering about his acting..

But yes I agree on Sanjeev Kumar, Ajay Devgan.....

I loved Sanjeev in koshish, Sholay, aandhi, naya din nayi raat, angoor...and many more 

sanjeev was an excellent actor i enjoyed watching his movies like angoor,mausam,aandhi and sholay

sanjeev kumar was never the typical hero in people's eye...  he was a powerhouse performer, very good actor but somehow not the hero of 70-90s... heros were expected to beat up goondas, be a robinhood kind of character... somehow masses wanted to see them as semi-gods... i think bollywood has moved past that stage... now heroes are normal realistic people... but somehow down south heroes are still the gods...

Yes that is tru about the South Indian Heroes, by the way one more God's Movie (Rajnikant) Sivaji is being released today, with a total cost of 95 crores and there is a rumour that Rajnikanth took 35 crores for it!!!!

what cant believe this he has taken 35 crores for acting in the movie

yes dinrat u have made an interesting point the reason behind sanjeev's less popularity i agree with u

to add i have found sanjay suri also pretty decent... but havent seen him many movies...

he was excellent in My Brother Nikhil and Jhankaar Beats

My Brother Nikhil was one of the best movies of 2005.. no idea why it didnt do well at the box office

Phir Milenge, which was inspired from Philadelphia, came around the same time but was nowhere as good as My Brother Nikhil..

yeah.. sanjay suri is very comfortable doing realistic roles... a tinge of comedy helps...

actually jhankaar beats reminds me of rahul bose, i like him a lot too...

jhankaar beats was pretty good.. a poor man's Dil Chahtha Hain

i would say a middle class man's dch :-)... i liked the movie a lot and must have watched it ~8 times...

its sunil shetty. HE IS DA MAN

2-bharat bhushan

3-balraj sahni

4-nessruddin shah

5-jacky shroff (as a hero)

all these mentioned actor are very good actors.

sanjay suri dharmendra and rishi kapoor also were underrated actors

dharmendra and rishi kapoor  were not underrated star.

espacially, dharmendra he was very famous and also critically acclaimed actor.

his performance in anupama and satyakam is brilliant. and critically acclaimed performance.

rishi was also very famous. and had a number o fans on his time.

thank god u didnt say rajendra kumar as underrated actor
