Mani Ratnam is known to keep details about his films under wraps until release. So far he has ensured to let out only minimal info about his ongoing film Kadal and has also made sure that pictures of the lead actors - Gautham Karthik and Tulasi are kept as guarded secrets.
However, sources close to the unit say that the crew shot a few songs in Kerala recently. Interestingly Vairamuthu's son Madhan Karky has penned lyrics for a few songs in the film while ace composer A R Rahman is in charge of the musical score.
Also, Mani has shot a huge chunk of the movie in his favourite location, Manapad (Kerala), apart from Andaman and some coastal regions in Tamil Nadu. Grapevine has it that Mani and his team are back in Manapad to shoot some more scenes.
Apart from yesteryear hero Karthik’s son Gautham and yesteryear actress Radha's daughter Thulasi, who are making their debuts, the cast includes Arjun, Arvind Swamy, Lakshmi Manchu, Ponvannan and Thambi Ramaiah.
