Shreya wins another state award

Shreya Ghoshal was named for yet another State award in the Kerala State Film Awards which were announced today. She was named the best for her rendering of the song “Kannoram…” set to music by M Jayachandran   for the film Rathinirvedam. This is her second Kerala state award, the earlier being the one for Banaras. Sudeep Kumar who sang the song “Chempakapoonkaattile…” got the award for the best male playback Singer. While Sarath was named the best music director for his work in Ivan Megaharoopan, Deepak Dev will be awarded for best background scores.

Aashiq Abu's Salt N Pepper was named the best popular movie of the year 2011. The movie also got the award for Best Actress. While Fahad Fazil got the award for the second best actor for his performance in Akam and Chaappakkurishu, Nilambur Ayisha was named the second best actress for her role in Oomakkuyil Paadumpol.

Dr .Biju was given a special jury award for his Aakashathinte Niram which also fetched its cinematographer M J Radhakrishnan, the award for best cinematographer. Altogether, 41 films were in the race for various awards this year which was judged by a committee headed by Tamil actor- director K Bhagyaraj.
