Meenkothi, directed by Sanjay Ram, marks the foray of Ajay Krishna, son of producer-actor Azhagam Thamizhmani as a hero.
Shobana Naidu plays the heroine in the film which has music by Dhina with background score by Bose Santhosh.
When asked about the film, Sanjay Ram said that it was an action-packed movie with romance and sentiment in the right mix. It is based on a real-life incident in Tirunelveli.
It is about a woman who causes a family dispute over property and then there is a lot of violence because of this. The movie was shot in Chennai, Coutrallam, Tirunelveli, Kodaikanal and other places.
Producer Sivasakthi Pandian, director Jananathan and lyricist Piraisoodan among others attended the audio launch function of the movie, which took place in Chennai on June 3.
