Manju Maskalmatti, the director and producer of this week’s release Gowriputra which is a remake of Tamil hit Raman Thediya Seethai is not a happy man. Though the film is scheduled for release this week, the leading ladies Nikitha and Smitha have not been participating in any promotional activities of the film and the director is upset about this behaviour.
Earlier, a few newspapers had reported that the heroines have been abstaining from the publicity work because Manju had not cleared their remuneration. The director however has denied all such allegations and said that the must look at both sides of the story.
Manju also broke out while saying that he was really upset to see his ailing father read the newspaper and worry about him.
“Is this the way to treat a new producer? I have been in the film industry and have worked in various capacities. I have paid everybody and yet Nikitha or Smitha have not been participating in the promotional activities of the film. I am very much affected by this because my film doesn’t boasts of a well-known hero. Apart from Akshay the only known faces in the film are Smitha and Nikitha. If they avoid coming for the promotional activities, then how do I promote my film,” questioned Manju Maskalmatti.
