Actress Jyothika called it quits when she was riding high in her career by marrying her lover, the super talented Suriya. One of her many notable performances was Mozhi by director Radhamohan in which she played a deaf-and-dumb woman with a strong character and a mind of her own. The actress had gone on record saying that it was the ‘best film’ she had ever done in her career.
Mozhi was produced by Prakashraj’s Duet Movies and had him playing one of the lead roles along with Mollywood’s Prithviraj and Kollywood’s Swarnamalya. Director Radha Mohan, who has also made films like Akasamantha and Gaganam, won critical acclaim for the film which had mesmerizing music aptly suiting the script.
Titled in Telugu as Matarani Mounam, the film is expected to be released on March 17. “The film is of high standards in all respects; story, performances, production or moral values,” says the producer. This is a landmark film in Radha Mohan's career,” says the exhibitor.
Popular comedian Brahmanandam as the secretary of a housing society committee in the film is likely to have the audience in splits. The film has music by Vidyasagar and lyrics by the late Veturi and Vennelakanti.
