Jayam Ravi had a brush with boxing, albeit on the screen, in M Kumaran S/o Mahalakshmi (2004). It seems his tryst with the sport continues, as he is said to be donning the role of a boxer in his upcoming movie Boologam.
The film directed by Kalayana Krishnan, will feature Trisha opposite Ravi. It is also said that Ravi is leaving no stone unturned to make sure he plays his role up to the mark.
A point to be noted is that the hero's (Ravi) character in the movie is named after a legendary boxer, who reportedly lived in North Chennai. The story is about the fight between two boxing schools that have been there for generations. Trisha dons the role of a college girl.
Further, sources said a couple of foreign boxers apart from Prakash Raj will play the baddies in the movie.
Shooting is on at a brisk pace.
