Haripriya is not new to controversy. Earlier, the Karnataka based actress who has worked in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films was in the eye of controversy for throwing tantrums and rejecting big ventures. She was also said to have an affair with former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s son Vijayendra. But in the recent times, the actress has been concentrating on her career. Now all of a sudden, there is a rumour doing the rounds that CBI officials have raided Haripriya’s residence. What does Haripriya have to say about all of this?
Here are some excerpts from an interview with the actress.
Well what do you say about the recent raid by CBI at your residence?
I don’t know how these kinds of rumours spread all of a sudden. I was really shocked when I heard this news. I was working out in a gym, when some media persons called me asking whether the CBI has raided my house. Why should the CBI raid my residence? These rumours are utterly baseless.
There are reports that you are very close to former Chief Minister’s B S Yeddyurappa’s son B Y Vijayendra which was the cause for this raid?
A couple of years back a tabloid reported that I was having an affair with Yeddyurappa’s son and that he had bought me a house in Dollars Colony. I had denied the news and made it clear that I do not know Yeddyurappa’s son, nor have I have met him till date. But someone is trying to sabotage my career by unnecessarily linking me with him.
Why do you think this is happening to you?
I don’t know. Every time one of my films is due for release, then all of a sudden these rumours crop up. It had happened earlier when my films Manasugala Maathu Madhura, Kallara Santhe and Ee Sambhasane were released. This has continued till date. Khiladi Kitty is slated for release on May 18 and the rumours are back.
Do you suspect anyone?
Some people are threatened by my success. I have acted in all the four South Indian languages and my career in Kannada is really shaping up. People who don’t like this are trying to spoil my reputation. I will reveal their names soon.
