I want to be the best actress: Parvathy Omanakuttan

Channel:

Miss India World, Parvathy Omanakuttan is all smiles and is excited about her debut movie in Kollywood opposite Thala Ajith. She hopes that Billa II will take her places in the South Indian film industry. Here are some excerpts from an interview with the actress.

Your very first movie is with Ajith. How does this make you feel?

I should call it luck. Pairing up with a great artist and a mass hero is a big thing. I’m bound to thank god for this opportunity. And I hope that my debut movie will give me a break.

Tell us something about Ajith.

He is a man of simplicity. I’ve seen him talk to artists, technicians and production boys at the sets with the same ease and politeness. I thought he would be arrogant before I met him, but I was of course wrong, he is really down to earth. He is an example to many in regards to the way people must behave irrespective of their success and star status. Even if other artists get it wrong, he would patiently explain to them, how a particular scene must be done. I used to be a great fan of his wife Shalini and when I told him that, he revealed that he too was a great fan of hers, so I congratulated him for getting married to her.

What’s the story of Billa II? What is your role in it?

If I reveal the story, it will lessen the excitement of the wait. Watch it on the Silver screen and find out. All I can say is that I play the lead heroine and my role brings a twist in the plot. I’m sure that the audience will love Billa II.

Glamour spells sustenance in film industry. Do you have any boundaries, to what is defined as glamour?

I don’t want people to come with a precept that Parvathy Omanakuttan was a former Miss World, and so she would graciously adorn glamour. I will do what my role demands, if it is glamour or otherwise, I will do it without hesitation. And once I agree to do a role, I don’t step back. I repeat, if the character helps in showcasing acting skills and if that role demands glamour I would surely do what it takes.

What do you wish to achieve in the film industry?

I want to be the best actress. I want everyone to have confidence in my acting skills and believe that no matter how tough it is, I would give my best.  I’m confident that I will achieve that goal and I’m prepared to work hard towards it.
