Reports emerging from the hospital where actress Alphonsa was admitted a couple of days ago say that her condition is ‘stable’. The actress, who was a successful item girl till a few years back, reportedly attempted to take her own life by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills on Monday following the suicide of her live-in-partner at an apartment in Chennai.
Doctors have kept Alphonsa under observation at a leading private hospital on Arcot Road in Vadapalani. Under mysterious circumstances, Vinod committed suicide by hanging himself at Alphonsa’s house in Virugambakkam on Sunday night. Sources say that there was a huge quarrel between the couple on Sunday night and subsequently Vinod took his life.
Relatives and friends of Vinod Kumar have expressed suspicions over his death while Vinod’s uncle Sukumaran has lodged a complaint with the Virugambakkam police, alleging it could be a case of murder. After finding Vinod hanging from the ceiling, Alphonsa called a doctor, who declared him dead. She then called police and informed Vinod's younger brother P Mohan.
The actress reportedly attempted suicide as she was unable to bear the anguish of her boyfriend's death but Vinod’s family has accused that she murdered him and is trying to make it look like a suicide.
