Naan Ee completes 50-day run

Channel:

These days, blockbusters and super hits have become a rarity, and theatre-owners and distributors are getting increasingly wary about films not turning out to be successful.  A (ny) film crossing the 50 or 100 day mark is considered as some sort of an achievement.

Naan Ee (released in Telugu as Eega) has just completed its 50 day run in theatres all over the state. The film with an interesting screenplay is directed by Rajamouli who has an enviable all-success record to his credit, and has Sandalwood’s Sudeep playing the villain along with Samantha and Naani in lead roles. It has become a smash hit in both Tamil and Telugu, reiterating Rajamouli’s position as the "showman of Tollywood".  Films starring other major stars were replaced with Naan Ee in many theatres.  According to trade circles, the Tamil version has so far raked in a whopping 25 crores.

The way Sudeep is put to untold misery by a ‘fly’ (Naani murdered by Sudeep reincarnates as a fly) was loved by the masses.  Apparently several Sudeep fan clubs have spurted in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
