Actor Vikram reacted to the recent reports which stated that the actor recommends Amy, at a function that was organized at INOX Complex to release the trailer of his upcoming film Thandavam directed by A L Vijay.
Thandavam has Vikram pairing up opposite the stars of Vijay’s earlier films, Anushka (Deivathirumagal) and Amy Jackson (Madarasapattinam). The entire crew of Thandavam was present at the venue. Speaking to reporters, Vikram said “Thandavam is very different in its expression and making. I don’t play dual roles though I might appear to be starring in them. I play an intelligence officer from RAW.
Amy appears in the first half, while Anushka occupies the second-half. Both have weighty roles and have performed admirably well. Vijay is improving by the day and is one of the best directors we have amidst us today. There is no smooching sequence between me and Amy in the film. If you (press) want, I shall ask Shankar to keep one such sequence in I,” said Vikram laughing aloud.
To a query as to whether it was he who recommended Amy as (one of) the heroine(s) in the film, Vikram said, “Vijay, who introduced her earlier, felt that she’d fit the role aptly and signed her up. I never choose my heroines and as such, the question of recommending an X or Y doesn’t arise at all. I have tried my best to differentiate the ‘blind character’ from my earlier film Kasi.
“I can essay the same role differently in 5 more films,” he said.
When asked about Vikram’s role, director Vijay said, “Vikram plays a character that can’t see but recognizes the situation by sound waves. He has done an excellent job. At the audio-launch of the film, we plan to invite the person on whom Vikram’s character in the film was inspired.”
Amy opined that she felt happy to be part of the Tamil film industry.
