Janapriya nayakan Dileep opined that along with the new generation films, good films with star value should also come up for the betterment of Malayalam cinema. He told media in Dubai that most of the much hyped new generation films fail to acquire initial collections when compared with the super star films.
He also added that he competes with his own films and that his search is for his next project. “Audience waits for what the super stars cater to them and hence I didn’t support this new trend”, Dileep said.
“ I am not underestimating these new projects. But, these cannot bring any changes to Malayalam cinema. Another fact is that these new generation films could not collect an equal amount in hundred days that super star films collect even if they run only for four or five days. Moreover, the new wave films have reach only in metros. ”,Dileep pointed out.
“Yes. Viewers never want to see the stars in same get up always. The present day stars have come forward after staging excellent performances. Now audience wants to know what they can deliver further. And the films have to be made keeping this point in mind,” Dileep added.
