Ajith’s films have always got the biggest opening after superstar Rajini and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s films. Even Ajith’s duds have not been an exception to this. The first five days for any Thala’s film have always been a full-house.
Billa 2 is Ajith’s next hopeful after his roaring success with Mankatha, the actor even embarked on a trip to Tirupathi, with director Chakri Toleti and offered prayers for the film’s success.
Meanwhile, bookings have already been closed for a week at all centres in Chennai. Considering the fact that this is only Chakri's second venture in Tamil after Unnai Pol Oruvan and the leading ladies are mere fancy names to people in the state, the grand opening can only be attributed to Thala Ajith’s presence in the film. Tickets are also being sold out in the black market for as much as 500 rupees, while one of the centres in the city has priced the tickets for the first day’s show at 650 rupees.
With Billa 2 being the second big release after Endiran and with tickets priced this high, it is sure to break some box-office records.
