Vinod Khanna was born on 6th October 1946 in Peshawar, Pakistan which was then a part of India. His parents were Kamla and KC Khanna. His father was a businessman handling textiles. He had three sisters and a brother.

Khanna studied at the Queen Mary’s School and St Xavier’s High School. He completed his graduation from Sydenham College.
