Sonu Sood Biography

Sonu Sood A former model and a contestant of Mr. Grasim India, Sonu Sood took to acting and has worked in a mix of Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies.

Basics on Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood was born on 30th July in Moga, Punjab. He was one of three children with two sisters making up the trio. His father was an entrepreneur while his mother was a teacher.

Sood’s school days were spent in Punjab. He graduated in Electronic Engineering in Nagpur. After walking the ramp in a couple of fashion shows, he participated in the Grasim Mr. India contest and was ranked in the top five.

His wife’s name is Sonali and they have a son called Ishan.

Sonu Sood’s Movies
2001 to 2003  Sonu Sood made his acting debut in a Tamil movie Majnu (2001) as Rinke Khanna’s brother. Kaizad Gustad’s Boom (2003) which explored the darker side of the glamour world was a huge flop.  

2004 to 2006  Sood was seen in Mani Rathnam’s Yuva (2004) as Gopal Singh. He got a chance to work with Mani Rathnam in the Tamil movie Aayitha Ezhuthu (2004) which had Madhavan, Surya and Siddharth in the lead.  

In 2005 he was seen in Sheesha, Chandramukhi and Athadu. He was seen in a lead role in Aashig Banaya Aapne with Tanushree Dutta and Emraan Hashmi. He appeared in the Telugu movie Asoka (2006).

2007 to 2009  In 2008, he acted in a Telugu movie with Genelia D’Souza and played the role of Prince Sujamal in the award winning Jodhaa Akbar. He had another hit in his hands with Singh is Kinng, in which he played a mafia head.

In 2009, he will be seen in Umesh Shukla’s Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and in a Telugu movie Arundhati in which he practices the dark arts.
