BASICS Simi Garewal was born in Ludhiana, Punjab, India on 17th October 1947, to a Jat-Sikh family. Her father was a brigadier in the army and Simi was brought up in England. She came back to India when she was a teenager to become an actress. She joined the Filmalaya Acting School. Simi's married life did not last long and ended up in a divorce.
