Danny Denzongpa is a Bollywood actor.
DANNY DENZONGPA
Danny Denzongpa was born as Tshering Phintso "Danny" Denzongpa on 25 February 1948 in Sikkim. Danny belongs to the ethnic Bhutia race. His family breeded horses and the actor was interested in horse riding as a young boy. He studied at the Armed Forces Medical College and then joined the Film Institute in Pune.
Dawa Denzongpa is his wife and the couple have a son, Rinzing.

Danny is not only an actor and singer but also a painter, writer, and a sculptor.
CAREER
Danny used to sing Indian and Nepali songs before he took up acting. He acted in more than 150 movies starting with Zaroorat (1971), which was a big flop. He was noticed in Gulzar's Mere Apne and in B. R. Chopra's Dhund. He was offered the famous role of Gabbar Singh for Sholay but the actor rejected it because of some other commitments.
He is famously known for playing negative characters. In the multistarrer, The Burning Train (1980), he appeared in a negative role. For films like Khuda Gawah (1992) and Sanam Bewafa (1991) he won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
In the Shahrukh Khan starrer Asoka he played a character named Virat. He was seen in the lead role as Vir Vijay Singh in 16 December (2002).
Hattrick (2007), Big Brother (2007), Chamku (2008), Karzzzz (2008), Luck (2009), and Acid Factory (2009) were his recent releases. His next release will be Shakeel Noorani's Jaan Ki Baazi (2009) alongside superstar Sanjay Dutt. Danny is currently working on the Tamil movie Endhiran (2010) which stars Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikanth.
He has acted with the Hollywood actor Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet and has also worked in various other international projects.
He has sung with some famous Bollywood singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, and Asha Bhonsle. He sang popular Nepali songs like "Chiso Chiso Hawama" and "Rato Rani Phule".
In 2003, Danny Denzongpa was honored with the Padma Shri Award.
